I got an answer back from Wick-it Performance. They are marginally higher priced than MFI ($35). Factoring in the shipping round trip to MFI, not sure which way I'll go just yet.
are the flash updates the same between the two? I thought I had seen someplace that they were the same flashes.

Did you factor in international shipping costs/customs paper work/exchange rates/etc , as I believe Monster is in Canada. Lot less hassle shipping stateside..

I agree that staying stateside would be faster and easier. Just curious if both offer the same tunes for the ECU. If so, I'll send it to Wick-It.

This is a fact!!! Wick-it opens the ECU, copies and sends the files to Monster fuel who sends back the files to wick-it to install and close up the ECU. To risky mailing to Canada. If it gets stopped in customs because back logs or worst yet, it gets lost?

I am seriously thinking about getting this done to my 14 STS but am torn on which setup to get. I am not a racer but need the extra power for riding two up and eventually trailering. From what I gathered so far from both Monster and Wick-It is the following:

    1. Stage 2 gains more torque below 5000 rpm (in fact more torque from 3000-700)
    2. Stage 1 is quieter
    3. Stage 2 adds power over 1 from idle to redline at all throttle positions
    4. They both give better fuel efficiency due more power to cruise or maintain a speed at a lower rpm, which will use less throttle opening (whrn running under 45% throttle)
    5. Stage 2 with the power gains you can shift gears between 4000-5000
    6. Stage 2 is good for riding 2 up
    7. Juicebox and Power Commander not in the same league as Stage 2 but are more comparable to Stage 1
    8. Handheld not available for 998s yet and the cost is $350 plus the maps Stage 1 $350 Stage 2 $500

IMHO, from actual towing ..... I'd get the stage 2 ..... when towing you will be going slower than in normal riding ..... good luck ..... Mike

Actually, Power Vision 3 has more than enough capability to make a tune as well as the Stage 2 Monster. Just not an adequate amount of dyno's around to fully tune a Spyder with a PV3.

I got mine back and installed yesterday. I went for a ryde and it ran good but not as fast as I expected. Not sure if it needs time to adjust or I need to remove the 1 baffle that is on the front end of my RLS cat delete. I don't really want it any louder.

Second ryde today and it was a world of difference. Its a beast today and will get even better when Ricky removes the baffle probably next week.

Been wondering also. Won't the computer keep a memory of a stage 1 or 2 install if one is done with a handheld and then returned to stock?

It takes about 200 miles to collect enough sensor input to change to new fuel tables. Out of the box it is on the same fuel tables as when you last drove it. I know people say otherwise, but I have tested close to 30 versions of the flash for Monster Fuel.

After my conversation with Ricky, I will follow his advice and remove the baffle. He explained that the noise level does not change much at all. The biggest difference is the change in back pressure. With the stage 2 tune I will gain more power with the unrestricted air flow.

about a year one so from going from stage 1 to stage 2 which is fairly cheap as stage 1 is the big hit.

I must be the only one not noticing a difference between stock and Stage 1 and its been a year now, i first thought maybe it was a case of getting my ecu back without the flash but I lost my eco mode and I reved it higher than stock rpm limit so i know it got flashed. I even did a comparison with my cousin who is running stock and he actually pulls ahead all the time, he is 20lbs lighter but still.
