Brake side floor board that swivels downs... why?
have 2016 RT-S... why does the brake side floorboard swivel down?? and then you push it up to lock in place...

That's just so that if you feel the need to really STOMP on the brakes during an emergency stop, the floorboard is released to drop down at the front so it won't get in the way!!
It is handy in those full on emergency situations, but probably not going to be used by most or necessary too often - still, it's better to be there & make that full on emergency stop work for you rather'n having the floorboard get in the way!!

If you're not standing on the brake lever, I know the floorboard will support a bouncing 270lbs... But mash that brake pedal down and it will release as designed.
