Bummer.....
If it was new from the dealer you should have gotten two... even used the dealer should provide two or at least tell you they can get you a second one for a sizeable chunk of change. They are, at the moment, the only place in town...

Just received a blank ignition key I ordered for my 2015 RT Ltd. Part # 710004408. Got it from Florida Central Powersports thru Amazon. No shipping, no tax. best deal I found. Finding a place to get it cut was tough. I found a Can Am dealer reasonably close that will do it then program it for about $30. Most places I talked to wanted $50 and could not cut it. Good Luck!!

I don't think so. The new key and your old one need to be reprogrammed at the dealer; it's part of the theft security system.

I am in the same boat you are. I just have one key. One dealer told me it would be $80.00 to get the key and have it programmed.

I thought they could clone your key if you still had a good original? BTW if you can get key blank cut and programed for under $100.00 you`re doing good. Just a simple old Jeep Grand Cherokee (2000) is $132,00 here at the dealer and $185 at the hardware store.

No one has reported successfully cloning a key for a 2014 model and later.

Not only the two keys but they also need the bike in order to program the keys. For about 35 bucks you can buy a master for 2013 and older and program them yourself.

Any independent shop with BUDS can program new keys. I have done a number of them for our customers. Its not a dealer only item by any means.

Speaking of Keys
Hello,
Just picked up my first Spyder- F3-T. I notice that the keys don't have a hole to allow them to be put on a key ring. This seems amazingly lame. Am I missing something?
Thanks

You can poke a hole. Look around here there are photos of where to do so. The hole is already in the key frame, its just covered in rubber.
We have all our CanAm keys on rings with the garage door opener fob.

That's true: it's not a "Dealer Only" item.
But it still requires BUDS: and you'll find most*** setups at a dealership.
*** but obviously not ALL!

At least you have a dealer that can program your key. I am SOL if I ever lose the one key I have now. I did get a spare key cut in Virginia while on business but no dealer or shop here in Hawaii can program key for my Spyder. The bright side is that I can at least open the Frunk!
