welcome
Hope you enjoy your test ride... make sure to ride both the manual shift as well as the "auto" shift....
The riding position can be changed with after market add-ons.... floor boards, highway pegs, pull-back handle bar systems, taller windshield, etc.

Don't take the test ride. Spyder dealers are drug dealers. They give you a little taste, take $18,000 and then you can't stop. You ride, you smile, you add accessories. Most of us are well past $20k and some are way past that. That said, I am not an addict and can quit whenever I want. Really. No intervention is necessary as I have the situation under control. It's 10:00 at night and I'm online on SpyderLovers. I rest my case.

I have never owned a motorcycle before, but I do have my motorcycle license. My other half doesn't want me to get a motorcycle, but we were driving in Quebec and saw several Spyders and thought they looked awesome and I would be allowed to buy one here in New Hampshire! I was able to look at them up close and saw the Spyder name. Looked them up online and found a dealer less than 5 miles from my house.
So i'm awaiting a test drive to be sure I like the feel of them. I want to put a down payment right this minute but since they aren't chump change I want to be sure I enjoy the ride and feel of them. I sat on the spyder and liked the feel, I would prefer the foot pegs be a little more forward but they aren't a show stopper for me.
Maybe this weekend....
You ride one, you'll buy one...enjoy! Yellow is the fastest!

Wow thanks for all the welcome's!
I think I got 'bit' by the spyder just by sitting on it.... there may be no turning back when I take a test drive.
The first mod will probably be pegs for the leg position, it looks like there are a few different places that sell them, i'll have to measure the most comfortable foot position and see which one matches up the best.
The weather for tomorrow (Saturday) looks good, I need to call the local shop to reschedule my test drive!

Rock,
The test ride is fun, but doesn't do the Spyder justice. I did 8 miles on my test ride which spanned side streets, back roads, and a short bit of interstate. The feel of the Spyder "mentally" changed from the first minute to the last from weird (I was used to two wheels), to more comfy. Once i got my Spyder home from a dealer that had the right price and rode it on my own terms the Spyder became so much more comfy to ride and I'm taking corners pretty aggressively now. No regrets.
Just make sure you look at more dealers. The dealer I test rode with cast a high price as bait just to see if I'd bite... I ended up working 3 local dealers and one out of state and found an awesome dealer that was great to work with and willing to beat any other dealer's price. Saving $1k to $2k on price does indeed matter. - Regardless of who gave you the test ride.
