Does anyone have experience with the S&W 380 bodyguard?

Have had it since it came out.Very compact.will fit in your pocket,have put about 500 rounds thru it never had a jam.I got the one with the lasar.

I also have a S&W 380 BodyGuard with the laser... good size for CCW ... gave it to my wife for CCW ... load it with Winchester 95gr JHP Bonded Personal protection ammo..

I have had one for 4 or 5 years now. Very nice size for ccw and never any problem. The laser feature is not impressive and I would not spring for it again in hind sight. Overall a nice little pistol.

I have carried one in an ankle holster for a number of years. It's a good little pistol. Accurate in close quaretrs which is where yo would use this gun. Am not impressed with the laser sight, but it's on there, so let it be.

I carried one for a number of years but being a southpaw the safety was a pain. I switched to a p238 Sig with the ambi safety. The Smith always functioned well as does the Sig but it better for 700.00 bucks

The ruger LCP II has a better trigger. Had the bodyguard. But replaced it with the ruger.

the guns I'm looking at are the P238, the Kimber 389 micro, the Springfield Armory 911 and of course the Smith Bodyguard.
The price point is hard to beat for the Smith.

I have personally had the Kimber .380, the sig p-238 and the Ruger LCP. My wife & I both rely on the Kimbers currently. The parts on the Sig and the Kimbers are mostly identical. The LCP is a different story with a double action trigger and less mass to the handgun.

Personal opinion on the laser is that in the close quarters you are likely to need a .380, a laser is not that advantageous.

Easy carry, no mag to fall out(?) , no safety to fiddle with, goes bang every time. Laser works GREAT. I did a trigger job on it and it's also works great. I like the fact that the shrouded hammer can still be cocked.

Modern ammo designed for short barrels is amazing compared what was out there years ago.

Good luck in your quest for the perfect carry weapon as there are many choices out there.

Does the place that is selling them have a range?
If you want a .380: I've got a sweet little Colt Government .380 in stainless; that could be pried from my safe..
(I haven't carried it since I bought the Seecamp...)

...before you buy. Each is a little different and you need the one that you feel comfortable with. I have the Bodyguard 380 and have shot the P238 and the LCP. Find a way to try out the gun.

I give my wife my LCP and got a smith and wesson m&p 380 ez. A little bigger and I like the feel much better. You just need to try a few to see which one is best for your style for in home or conceal carry. Good luck. Happy Trails

I had a 380 bodyguard for several years, purchased one for my daughter at the same time. Now my wife ones it and loves it. between the two pistols we have put roughly 1,400 rounds through them and all without any problem.

That is what we carry when we ride, it fits into the glove box on the RTL perfectly with room for the two extra mag and my wallet.

My brother has the S&W 380 Bodyguard and never had any problems, though he hasn't shot it lots. I have an LCP and Kimber 380 micro. I'd consider selling the LCP if anyone is interested. I have a weak grip and the Kimber is really easy to rack. I mostly carry a North American Arms Sidewinder .22 mag. Light and tiny. Great purse gun.

Kathy carries a Berretta that does that (I think that it's the Minx model...), and it's as easy to load, as it is to unload!
(Keep pulling the trigger until things get quiet! )
