Re: Anyone who has served in America's military and taken the oath is a fully assimilated American. To say otherwise is really, really offensive.
I agree 100+%.
A question for Bob Denman: Have you ever served in the military? If so, for how long?

Jerry,
I'm happy to answer this one: I wish that I had seen it sooner...
I was 4F
Type I Diabetes took me out of the game...
I had to register for the last year of the draft: I pulled "60" as my number...
No: I could not serve in that capacity; I regret that I could not.
My Dad served in the Marines during the Korean conflict...
My Grampa Denman could not serve: Tuberculosis left him with just half of one lung functioning.
My Grampa Matzinger served in the U.S. Navy during WWI...

If diabetes took you out of the game, why did you have to register for the draft? It seems if they would make you register for the draft that you could actually enlist.
I don't see it either. He must have drunk all the whiskey in that barrel he's sitting on. Because his hats on backwards and he can only type with one hand. And he only can type on same keys

They don't start figuring out your status, until you get the call...
"So called military veterans" ... Well, as a "so called" military veteran, perhaps you'd like to have this "so called" military veteran show you my DD-214? Or my retiree ID card? Or perhaps my collection of medals? I think this is the first time in my life I've ever been INSULTED for my military service.
Well, I'm not going to let some Russian troll ruin my day. Tell your bosses in Moscow that those of us who served in the U.S military did so to defend the Constitution from all threats, foreign and domestic, including the First Amendment that gives us the right to express whatever views we like, even "liberal views," whatever the heck that even means. Tell your bosses that the U.S. Constitution is susceptible to interpretation in many ways and that smart Americans know that it's the job of our Supreme Court and the judicial branch to interpret it. Remind them that the lawful interpretations of the Constitution by the judicial system are the only ones that true American patriots care about. Tell them that we're not listening to trash posted by some troll from Moscow who's obviously just trying sow division and hatred to bring this country down. Oh, and say hi to Vladimir for me.
Russia, Russia, Russia......... This is straight from the CNN playbook, but your missing one thing.
Don't hold back Johnny boy, I know your dying inside to call me a racist.....................

No, throwing epithets around willy-nilly would be your fall-back position when you don't have anything meaningful to say.

Back in the day, before the draft lottery, every male had to register for the draft with his local draft board on or before his 18th birthday. No ifs ands or buts. After registering, he would be called up for a physical.

Well, Vladimir or Leonid or whoever you really are, you have to expect to be called out as a troll when you (a) go around questioning the patriotism of people who actually served in the U.S. military, (b) disrespect the First Amendment rights of others, (c) work to inspire hatred of one group of Americans in order to divide the country, and (d) brag in other posts in this same forum about how you post this same garbage all over the internet. And now you're trying to inject "racism" into the discussion where none was ever mentioned. Good job of deflection, comrade! But really, you need to send me a link where I can find that "CNN playbook."
no no no.............. I'm a Russian, a liberal told me so !!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's set the record straight. The Russian people are wonderful folks. Americans are wonderful folks. Chinese, Vietnamese, are wonderful folks. Canadians, Mexicans, etc etc, ad nauseum.... It's political leaders of our respective countries who, for whatever selfish reasons, set us at war with each other. Let's stop demonizing people, people!
