    Default Seat Cushion

When I was at Spyder on the Bayou, I met someone that had a Air Hawk seat cushion. I was wondering if anyone else would recommend it or recommend something else other than replacing the seat.

Try the Hawk first. $150 vs. $600 and up. When I had hip issues I used one regularly...depending on the pain of the day.

Inflation is the key. Do not overfill. You are supposed to sit IN the Airhawk and not ON it.

The medium size works very well for the Spyder seating.

I have an Air Hawk and like it. Still need to try it on a long tour though. The cost is not bad... just over 100 on Amazon. I had contacted Air Hawk's support for recommended size and they said a Large RevB Cushion. It fits the seat well. As was said, don't overfill, but just enough to allow pressure point relief. Here is the link on amazon:

For other suggestions I have a cushion from motorcycledave.com a sponsor on this website. It turned a 2 hour seat into an all day seat. I think he is having a sale right now, he posted something about that a few days ago. Give him a call

I find the AirHawk very useful when taking curves, it allows my upper body to tilt into the corner more easily....remember the cushion is not meant to be fully inflated

Another vote for the Air Hawk. 2 years ago I took a 28 day 9100 mile ride out west and my butt never bothered me once. Your butt will be happy you bought it.

I've been thinking about getting an Airhawk as well, but I can't decide on the size. Which fits better on the Spyder, the medium or the large?

Both of the air cushions look good.. the Air Hawk and the Air Innovations. Air Innovations has a 1 year warranty, Air Hawk 2 year. Unfortunately, Air Hawk's used to have a lifetime guarantee, which was changed a few years ago to the two year. term. I had one with the lifetime guarantee, but let it go with a Low Rider I sold to a family friend in the past. He's still using it. Both brands can have repairs attempted beyond the warranty period.

I got the medium Air Hawk and it fits the RT seat well. Had too much air initially but was good after letting some air out. Recently completed a 1000 mile ride. Comfortable all the way.
