    Default Camera for motorcycle

Any alternatives to the GOPRO cameras being used, not that they are not good merely looking for a less expensive option. I know you get what you pay for but . . . just not made of money and would rather apply most of my resources to the trike itself.

Intent is to visit Yellowstone next summer so looking for something to dash or some sort of mount to record trips more memorable scenery.

I use the HTC RE. Takes great pictures and videos at highway speeds and is super easy to download pictures. Cost is around $120 with the accessory package.

I have used the SJcam4000 and it is almost up to the quality of my GoPro 4 Silver, not quite but close. But for the price it is hard to beat. Also have a Sena Tube that has as good or better quality as the GP and the sound with the remote mic is excellent except it won't interface with existing Sena communications, not a big problem as the mic is small and easily installed in your helmet. Only real negative is the anti shake is not as good as the GP's so you will get a little bouncier video but nothing that would be a deal breaker.
I have also used the Drift helmet cams and found them to produce great video also, haven't used the latest and greatest so I expect them to be even better now.
So I would say if your on a budget go with the SJ or the Sena.

I have the Innovv K1 system on all my motorcycles.

    1. Turns on/off with the ignition
    2. Loop recording. Writes over old files. With a 64GB microSD card, that's several days worth
    3. Records with forward mounting and rearward mounted cameras.
    4. Has been bullet proof for me.
    5. HALF the price of a GoPro

    Default Sony HDR-AS15

Prior to GoPro I used a Sony HDR-AS15. If you want to save money & get great quality this is the way to go. I mounted mine to the left mirror & it has a one-button activation. It has the anti-shake and gives a very clear picture. You can purchase these used for $30-60.

I have used an ION camera for years and recently replaced it with another ION Speed Pro. No water proof case needed. Comes with WiFi and takes both small uploadable video as well as HD.

A video of my ION on top of the helmet. Turn the volume down and its kinda windy. I'm Gong over the Tehachapies and in Death Valley.

Whatever you get, it is well worth it. I have the cheap Ion cam that I mounted to handlebars that recently caught an encounter I had with a waste management truck. $1800.00 in damages that was paid, no questions asked. Video don't lie!!!

    Default ION Camera

I purchased an ION HD Sports Video Camera which takes real good videos. They have a lot of different models. The one I have is a cheaper model does not record sound. All I wanted was to take videos riding. I added music off the computer. Here is their wed site. https://usa.ioncamera.com/air-pro-lite-wifi. I have a windshield mount and a helmet mount.

They have about any thing you want and are priced pretty reasonably.IMG_20171219_103900.jpg

Maybe more money than what you want to spend, but I use a DJI Osmo +. It has a lot of different accessories, and is the same camera used in many of DJI's drones. Great 4K for such a small camera.

Think gonna bite the bullet with a GoPro5, read a lot of reviews and although much more expensive, no one ever seems to complain about the quality of the video.

Go to www.groupon.com, and go to "electronics", then go to cameras. A GoPro style camera with 1080p can be had for about $76.
