It says hand made and made to order. If true, very labor intensive. As an oldtime leather worker the process is worked out from behind, the leather is pushed out and then filled before putting a liner on the work to hold everything in. They used to use a mixture of sawdust and rubber cement for the fill.

$1,700 may be in the ballpark if they are trying to get all their hours covered on the labor.

If it is a "knock off" as in machine embossed and using cheesy leather--then the "fix" is in. I would want to buy the item in person rather than mail ordering from the comrade in Russia.

To much money to get taken for a ride.

I took an additional look at the wallets. The stuff is beautiful but the magic word "embossed" appears. Not hand tooled, but pressed in from a plate on a machine. The dye jobs look pretty good. Machine sewed--not hand stitched. Way over priced. The Mexican stuff of the same variety is a better buy.
