    Default Stiff RT mirrors

My RT 2014 mirrors are very hard to adjust, does anyone knoe a fix for this, I tried getting some wd40 and fine oil on the ball the mirror swivels on but no improvement. I imagine there is a screw underneath the glass, but I imagine the glass is made to break the glass if you attempt to remove it.

    any input appreciated

    Thanks

It's just a case of grit your teeth, and tough it out: there's no adjustment in them.

After using the WD-40 and found No difference , consider your-self LUCKY ...... you Didn't get any on the PLASTIC ball and socket ..... #1....WD-40 might be mildly corrosive to plastic ( long term ) ..... #2.... could very possibly make that connection TOO loose and then how would you fix that ???? ...... The trick to adjusting is ....Don't try to do it while riding , because the most effective way to adjust them is by squeezing the mirror glass with your thumb while pushing on the outside of the Housing ......... PS , there is very very little adjustment in the unit it-self ......it is designed this way ..... good luck .... Mike

They are adjustable and yes the mirror will break if you try and remove it. The adjustment range is about 1/2" in any ONE direction. The ball and socket is plastic so WD40 or any oil like product may make the plastic swell making it even worse. The spring and ball above inside the mirror is metal but you can't get to it unless you break the mirror. You might try a silicon spray...

Would you rather that they loosen up, and not hold their positioning?
Once you get them where they need to be: you'll never have to move them anyway!
