    Question 2018 LCD Instrument cluster

Just dreaming here.....no one throw stuff at me. I wonder if the new LCD display on the 2018 could be retrofitted to say 2015 RT-S?

I doubt it. For one thing, the new system uses a joystick on the left handlebar pod, instead of the previous four-button switchology. The joystick likely offers more flexibility for all the new display modes and menus.

Scroll through the pictures at Lamont's review of the new Spyder and you'll see what I mean.

IF they were to be a retrofit item, not until they sell a gazillion of them already in the 2018's. It would also have to be plug & play. With the differences in control modes, I am thinking not.

Time will tell. I am not going to retrofit. I am guessing about $1K if it were true.

I can get all the information I need off mine--AND--I know where everything is and how to change it.

    Default Not likely...

Probably not worth it...be easier and cheaper to upgrade...

There's deeper changes than just the screen: this is clearly not a "retrofittable" item.
But they ARE available as standard equipment on the 2018 RT models: it's time to upgrade!

Thanks to everyone who replied. I will just wait a few years and then upgrade.
