Default What are you using for cupholders

    Hello Everyone
I a definitely new to the spyder world, my wife and I just purchased a 2013 RT. We are getting ready to go on our first road trip and am wondering what everyone is using for cupholders both front and rear. thanks for all your help, saw one from one of our advertisers here but the price was at this time out of our budget.

As far as cupholders go: the Missus uses her right hand... and I use my left!
We keep our drinks in the storage compartments until we decide to stop: no distractions while making time on the roads!

Besides: I'm a klutz, and I'd drop it into traffic for sure!

Lamont's, LAMONSTER RT SPYDER CUFF with adjustable cup holder.
Spyder with SpyderCuff and insulated cup at SitO 17..jpg
I was like Bob for many months, but by the time I did my Iron Butt SS1K on a 90+ degree day, I wanted routine cold hydrations without having to dismount, open a storage, get in a cooler and take a sip. It's a SOLID mount on my RT's stock handlebars, I can put in insulated cups in and remove them, while moving or stopped, one handed.
    Worth every penny.

PS, welcome to the Spyder world, I LOVE my '13 RTL. 12,000 + miles in the last 11 months.

Same here but no wife I have an adjustable holder in frunk can carry a pair of 64oz movie cups if I like. (Yetis fit too) IMG_0801.jpg it Velcros to my liner works great for me & helps encourage my stops for stretching legs (better miles than time).

    Default Cup holder

I went through a number of them before I broke down and spent the money on Lamont's Spyder Cuff. Solid, held my phone and water/coffee cup. Can't be topped.

I am with Bob on this one. Drinks in the trunk. No distractions and I get to stretch a bit in the interim while making short stops. Hey Folks your not on a

treadmill and can do without water for 1-2 hours. Besides I get to take care of something else when I stop. Ladies you should appreciate that too.

I will cautiously agree with Jack on this one, while also having done what Mike and one other have mentioned.

When I first got the Spyder I bought a VERY inexpensive drink holder that clamped onto the passenger hand grip, I always thought that I would buy the Lamonster thing for the cup and the phone, but have not.
I did recently buy a Camelback for trips, I still make the 1.5 hour stop, but I stay hydrated while keeping attention on the road, the hose is only just off my chin.

I suppose that it really comes down to your riding style...
If you're really in the biggest hurry possible, to pile up miles, get somewhere, see something, do something, or meet someone: perhaps you desperately need to hydrate "on the fly"!
Or... you could just leave earlier...

Since I pretty much operate at a pace that only a Sloth can appreciate: we stop, and take our time.

Sorry, it isn't a cup holder, but here is what I use. I'm with the others, don't need a cup holder. I just stop a stretch and get a dink on my stops.

It keeps my drinks ice cold all day. I just throw four 20oz frozen water bottles on top. Even in the saddle bag of my Magnum, which is sitting right on the exhaust. They make all different shapes and sizes. I'm sure they have one that will fit the Spyder.

I use a Spyder Cuff on the front handlebars and went to Menards and got the mugg with a straw.

Keep the drinks cold longer than I expected and can take out and drink while driving.

Was really happy with the convenience of grabbing a drink and not having to stop all the time.

I didn't like the clamping type of holder for the rear passenger bars because of the heated bars. So now they sell a cuff for them to now.

Full face helmet, no cups. I use a camelbak if I need one on long rides. BUT... I find some of the new double walled thermo cups keep my coffee warm in the trunk between stops. My cupholder comes with power windows, ac, and comfy seats.

I keep my water bottle in the trunk and I will not add a cup holder because I know myself too well, because it would only be a mater of time before I threw my water bottle at some idiot on the road that run a red light or pulls over on me. I would like to think that at my age I would mussel up some restraint but I have issues with stupid people or ones that just don't think. So I'll save myself some road rage moment and leave my water bottle in the trunk. Besides it's good to stop once in a while and stretch my legs .
