Does Superclamp even exist for our Spyders anymore
I promise that this will not be a rant.
I bought a used trailer so that we can take our Spyder to Florida with us for the winter.
Anyway, the trailer has the Superclamps at the front and they seem really good.
Problem is that the seller didn't have or didn't give me the tie down ratchet straps that attach to the footpegs.
I've searched the forum as well as superclamp.net trying to find straps. Superclamps website makes absolutely no mention of Can Am Spyder that I've been able to find.
The straps are really short and when I go to the stores, they're selling 15' and longer ratchet strap sets.
Sooooo, does anyone know if they even make the product anymore???
Could someone with the system tell me how long the ratchet straps are??
Thanks
Greg

seems like a pair of "soft tiedowns", small hookless straps,
in conjunction with a pair of ratchet tiedowns would be just fine.
For EVERYTHING in tiedowns, visit Etrailer.com
Don't know why you can't decide what length you need to get to your anchor points.

Yep, I had to make short tiedowns for my Riding mower / trailer combination, I just bought normal tiedowns and fitted them, left about a foot extra length after ratcheting them down snug, and cut the excess strap off. Little lighter action to melt the frays away and I have perfect length tiedowns.

No they're not making them anymore unfortunately. There's nothing special about the tie-down straps; buy long ones and cut them down to size.

SUPERCLAMPS
They aren't made anymore for one simple reason .... cost vs. value = they couldn't sell them ..... I have ONE heavy duty ratchet strap that I put over my rear tire ( in-line with the tread ) and tighten it .... I have had two accidents and my Spyder never moved .....cost of my Strap $10.00 ....... I think the Superclamp sold for about $ 350.00 ........ IMHO that's why they stopped making them ...... PS, a couple of years ago I started taking about my method of holding my Spyders down and quite a few other members have tried it and were very glad they did .....Mike ...............PPS a company called " Discount Ramps " sells their stuff on E-bay at reduced prices all sorts of ratchet straps with some rated at 4000 lbs.......

Tractor Supply has a bunch of really strong tie downs. Just use a red hot knife heated on your stove to melt to length. (don't let wife see this part)

Thanks to all of you for the responses. The reason for not making them anymore makes sense for sure.
thanks again

I have these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
But I've recently scored a set of super clamps from another Spyderlovers and will get them in October. I'd pass these on to someone else after I have them installed on my trailer.

I have Super Clamps and love them. Worth every penny I paid for them. Make sure your trailer anchor for the ratchet straps puts forward pull on the
Spyder. Mount the tie down forward of the rear foot pads I will be out at the hanger where I store my Spyder on Labor Day and will take pictures of the
and tie downs if you would like. PM me.

Super clamps
Bought a used set in February for $100.00 and I really like them. I'm using gorilla straps on mind.

If you've got a Harley shop nearby: make friends with the folks in the service department.
When Harley ships a bike, they use straps of all sorts of lengths. I've got some that are no more than 15" long, and some that are almost 8'...
And they're really high quality!

Take a look at Mac's tiedowns. They have just about anything you would want.

You can cut first and then "seal" the new end with a flame.
Cigarette lighter or a big match works.
I think my owners manual says to just strap through each wheel, with both hooks at the tie down point.
That's what I'm doing; seems solid.

Hey, Bob......
I've been wondering how your Spyder is working out with your new RV.
Mine made the trip to Darlington......and is going from there to Richmond next week.
Hope to get some riding time in VA where the weather should be a bit cooler.

They don't make them any more. I got the last set available a couple years ago. $100 + shipping is a screaming deal.

I never liked the ones that came with mine. I used ones that where a little heavier than came with. Just made them work. No Problem!

thank you! I don't have a use for them and just want someone in the Spyderlovers family to have them. I don't ride anymore but never
will forget the good times when I did.

RCDurango, you might want to use the For Sale forum to let people know you have them available. It's going to get lost buried in this thread.

UtahPete, I have tried to do just that but have been unable to post anything due to Thread Prefix error.
Not sure whats up with that. Shame because I'm sure someone could use these and would love the price
they could be purchased. If you know what is going on with this I sure would be grateful.
