    Default New Spyder

I was offered a good deal on a left over 2017 Champagne RTS SE6, so I reluctantly traded in my mostly trouble free 2012 RTS SE5. The good news is I can pick it up any time, but the bad news is it is raining. I don't ride in the rain on purpose unless I'm out and need to get home, that said I have ridden in the rain but only when I'm out and can't avoid it. I'm thinking of making an exception.

They told me not to give up on my dreams, so I went back to sleep.

I think I would wait. It will still be there for you tomorrow. I also don't ride my bike in the rain unless I'm out on it and trying to get home.

You didn't say how hard it was raining or if you were riding the (high speed) Interstate home or not but if it were me I would wait. Depending upon the specifics riding in heavy rain can be very dangerous and not all that much fun. Besides, once you have it home will it just sit in the garage? What's the rush?

The worst thing about rain riding though isn't you - it is the other drivers who don't slow down in the rain, don't know how to brake in the rain, didn't replace their windshield wipers so they can actually see in the rain etc.

Brand new trike? I would not chance it.

Either way, congrats on the new ride.

Rain Smain, it'll be gone by the time you leave the dealership, roads will be cleaner, the day will be brighter, and go get a pic of that new Spyder in front of the Bella Donna Chapel, nice backdrop!
Post a pic when you do feel it's safe enough to pickup.

Default New is a matter of perspective...

Bought a brand new GOLDWING SE-i (a top dog for it's day) back in 1986 and set off on it's first ride... a round-trip from Columbus OH to Baltimore MD... stopped mid-trip for lunch, parked the bike on the center stand... after we enjoyed lunch, went back to the bike and found the center stand had sunk deep into the apparently fresh blacktop. The rest of the group had already hit the road, which left me and my lady co-rider to figure out how to get out of this predicament......... I opted to rock the bike from side-side on the center stand... broke it loose ok... the left center stand leg immediately popped out of the blacktop.. and my hands... and the bike plopped over on its right side... OOPS! Righted the bike, only damage was the right side fairing mirror was now a hand mirror. Tossed it in the trunk, looked at my lady and said "It's not new anymore, now we can ride!" And away we went....

Really like your tagline. I've entered the first stages of ALZ.... hope you don't mind it I borrow it...

Not to brag or anything but I can forget what I'm doing while I'm doing it.

We live in Oregon and that is one of the reasons we bought Spyders, because we can ride in the rain and extend the season. If we did not ride in the rain, that would severely limit our riding time. Just buy some good rain gear !

Your right and it's raining again this morning. I'll probably wait until Sat the rain is supposed to be over tonight.
