Newbie F3 SE6 question
Hello all. Just finished first two rides totalling 90 miles on my new 17 F3 SE6. I have learned to shift at higher rpm's to make it smoother and not lug the engine. Only thing I notice is when I am pulling out from a stop it seems (at least to me) to vibrate/shudder/lug a bit. do you think it might be just me babying it too much being a newbie? Is this somewhat normal for these? or something i should have looked at. any help would be appreciated

When in doubt, I would take it back by the dealer and let them offer a full diagnosis, "IF" indeed anything is wrong with your bike.
That's my 2 cents!
HAND'S UP:
The only sure way of getting rid of bad habits is to create good ones.
AND, by the way, this will not happen on auto pilot.
It's time for a YOU-turn!!!

With the F3 you do turn the throttle a little more to get going than the RT or ST. It seems like it's sluggish but it really isn't....just give it some more throttle when starting out, it likes to know who's boss. If you find yours is still shaking/vibrating after giving it some more throttle at the start then yes time to take it in and have it looked at.

Practice....
Make sure your in first... no but really give it more gas/rpm's and let the clutch out slower. You will find the right combination

he DID say SE6.
The 1330 is a little "flat " right off idle. But "Lugging" ?... I could drive my triple all day, never going over 3k rpm,
and it will pull confidently from anywhere there, in any gear.

lugging
yeah, lugging is the wrong word to describe. a vibration is probably the best way to describe it. it has PLENTY of power to pull out in 1st, just fees like the clutch is chattering, but may in fact just be the harmonics and also what multiple people above said, just not giving it enough. thanks all for the replies.
what it reminds me of is when you start and stop a cvt transmission a lot and the bike shudders when you pull out from a stop.

I have found that the ST-S SE5 that we have will shudder in first gear when if I start it and move it immediately. If I let it sit there and idle for a minute or two before I leave it seems better. I have always thought that it is because the engine is not up to operating temperature.
Just sayin'...........
Three in the garage, and I think I can fit at least one more in.....and then we will have to build another garage.
The roads in NY are so bad that I am glad we bought a Ryker Rally
Just sayin'............
