Helmet Ventillation
Since I'm upgrading my ride to a Spyder, I decided it's time to upgrade my helmet too........to something with a little better air flow.
Since one can't "test ride" a helmet, I thought I'd ask for some opinions here.
I'm leaning toward a Shoei full face or modular but the price makes me pause just a bit.
I have an HJC modular now. It's about 5 years old and the ventilation is minimal; when I got it I thought it had good venting but in Florida in the summer that opinion has changed.

Revzilla will often have videos that explain the features of their products.
Take a look around in ther Helmet Section: you might be able to pick up some useful information in there!

I bought my Arai Quantum 2 years ago specifically for that reason as no shop, even Cycle Gear within a 100mi of me knew anything about measuring your head for proper fit. My HJC, AGV and Shoei full face (Don't believe in Modulars) were all XL. My Arai is a Medium with #3 cheek pads and is stupid quite. On my past helmets I used to wear ear plugs and was constantly adjusting my helmet at speed but it felt good at the dealers. Watched a few YT vids on how to measure your melon and went in with that info. Took some doing and seriously long woosah moments with the kids pulling helmets and cheek pads for me to try them on but in my opinion my head is worth it.
i am not a hot head but my head does create some serious heat and the Arai vents very well. During the winter if you close all the vents it is to hot for me. Open the brow vents and the back vents and it is perfect.

Its to bad they don't make a helmet for the humid hot southern, USA. Something on the order of those bicycle helmets with all the holes in it.
If you find one with good ventilation, be sure and post which one you purchased.
Good luck!

I have a Shoei modular (Neotec) and most of the time it's pretty loud. Lot's of wind noise. On occasion (rare) it's very quiet. It's a little disappointing because of the price of it.

Vented windshield?????
A vented windshield helps a lot as it can direct cooling air toward your helmet. A Goldwing vent is about $50 and if your at all handy you can cut the shield yourself. I did this on my Valkyrie and it made a Huge difference. I now have a BRP vented shield and it also works great. My cheap a$$ modular helmet works fine behind the vented windshield.

Have to second the Arai! I have the Defiant and it has 7 vents, two built into the face shield that direct cool air to your temples (an area with a lot of blood vessels to cool you off). Two on the front of the helmet that direct air over the top of your head, one at the chin, and two exhaust vents in the back to to suck out the hot air. Very quiet, and cool in most conditions ( not sure about Florida In the summer! Not cheap, but the safest, most comfortable (for me) made. BUT if it doesn't fit you right it will not be!

I know that a lot of people shop for near to EVERYTHING online but I refuse to do that with helmets.
I am a hard fit (big head) and don't want the hassle of returning stuff.
And I think that trying something like a helmet on in a local store and then ordering online to save a couple of bucks is unethical.
Just me.

I 100% agree (Not about your big head cause i don't know you). I only buy Helmets, Boots and Jackets In Store with Everything else online as most returns are painless and free shipping with some down time.
I also 100% agree the ethical part as that was how i was brought up but the high $$ items usually overwrite that. I would rather have a steak than top ramon and make up for it somewhere else.
Good read as well with BajaRon being a dealer may save you some bucks.
