I remember it well. I was working a night time shift at a gas station. Watched it on TV as it happened. It was a very slow night for customers. Rode my Honda 305 Dream home that night in about 40 degree temps (Duluth MN--an off lake breeze from Lake Superior). I lived on the North Shore (French River) at the time.

I remember it well, too! I was 14 and we were visiting at my aunt and uncle's house. Both families were glued to the TV.
On the road again...........and forever young!

    Hi Bob,

    Re: 48 Years ago...

I was out at the dropzone. In between jumps, as I was packing my parachute ( the radio was on ), he announced, 'Tranqulity Base here.'

I have always considered it the greatest engineering feat in man's history.

PS) Thanks for the reminder, I had simply forgotten about it.

FOR THE RECORD: We have a member here, whose Mom was deeply involved in figuring out the engines that set it down, and then blasted it back off of that rock!
He once said that after it had safely landed: she broke out in tears!
    To her!

I was just a little guy that night and was already in bed. Parents came and woke me up so I could see it.

Here we go again. In 1973, I bought a new Honda 350 Scrambler (red & white). I liked that one a lot. In those days it was about price and not cc's.
