It was a slam-dunk decision.

I saw an interview with his accomplices a few days ago. They said he will just go back to his old ways despite his age. Some friends they are!!! And, much as I don't care for the guy, this was the right call for THIS crime....

I'm not sure what kind of life it will be. Every dime he makes from now on, whether he finds a job at McDonald's, or uses his notoriety for publicity to make money, goes to, or should go to the Goldman family. Good behavior for nine years? While its no crime to be regarded as a narcissist, that's what he truly is. And it should be remembered that a leopard, like OJ can't change his spots.

Not so
They said today he gets $25,000 a month from his NFL Pension and that is the reason for choosing Florida. Florida does not allow them to take his pension or homestead.
To be clear, this was what I heard on the news, not responsible for the validity of facts!

yes he was a model prisoner but so what. why get parole because you behave in prison? when in prison aren't you supposed to behave
or more time would be added? he like any other prisoner was given a sentence for a crime, let him serve the sentence.

Al,
That's a discussion for another time...

I imagine he got special treatment in prison. The other prisoners probably see him as a hero. So that makes it easier to behave. He is a certifiable psychopath, so he may be visiting prison again.

I could be wrong about this: can somebody fact-check it for me?
I heard a report saying that he was going to live in Florida because his NFL pension couldn't be garnished in that State.
Can someone confirm or dispel this?

Hi Bob,
Re: NFL pension couldn't be garnished
Based upon newspapers & TV news reports back when he killed those two & now; it is my understanding that:
- He gets $1,700 month pension from the NFL
- No pension can be garnished

Makes perfect since to move to Florida. If it will get him closer to his kids and keep his money in his pockets, then it is a win, win. Now he just needs to lay low and keep out of trouble. And don't write any more stupid a$$ books.

Federal law prohibits any judgements or liens against pensions. This would include all states. He is and was a legal resident of Florida before this incident and prison term and would so be considered upon his release.

Hi Jack,
Re: Federal law prohibits any judgements or liens against pensions.
As you can see from my previous post, this is my understanding.
However, in yesterday's OREGONIAN ( our major newspaper ) it mentioned a change in the Oregon law where pensions could be garnished, attached, etc.
I am thinking that the federal law you mention may apply to federal pensions; which I get two.
Oregon's law probably applies to folks retired on Oregon's PERS system. PERS is an Oregon retirement system that covers all state, city, county, etc employees.
