Cruise control
Inoperative cruise set, is on a 2015 rts with 3,500 miles .has worked well up until today, the cruise is on however I cannot set the speed.any suggestions? This is a new machine, still under warranty thanks

If it were me I would unplug the battery for a few minutes and then call my dealer if that didn't work. But I'm new with the Spyder and haven't played around with it too much.

Can you give us a bit more to go on about the how & when the cruise control is not working?? What gear you were in, revs the engine was at, & speed you were trying to set would be handy.... These BRP units only operate above certain speed/revs, so those details can be critical, plus there are a few Spyders with more miles up than yours where the switch itself has failed.... altho hopefully that's not something you need to worry about just yet!

Double Check the manual
Hi,
I have a 2016 RTS. The cruise is a bit tricky to get used to. I see that it is on, then you have to push down (I think - double check the manual!) to set. You can accel/decel/set. You have to be above 3500RPM(ish) lower RPMs seems not to engage cruise. In 6th gear the cruise is sluggish if your in a hilly area. Good Luck!

If you follow the instructions in the owner's manual and the CC doesn't work, get it to the dealer for repair under warranty. Do make certain your R foot is nowhere near the brake pedal when trying to set CC.
Artillery lends dignity to what would
otherwise be a vulgar brawl.

Have your dealer replace the unit under warranty.
(I had mine quit working, and that's what it took to make things right again.)

I leave my cc switch in the on position all the time. Heard Bob White say in one of his videos they are prone to breaking when switched on and off a lot. doubt this has anything to do with why yours is inop though.

! IMO, it's easier to leave it on all the time and just push down when I want to set it.

Not on my 17 Limited. Just gone through a few sets of speed cameras. Bike was in third doing 29mph. Cruise engaged when tapped down and stayed on. Revs were about 2000.

Have you checked the brake pedal and the brake light, maybe something is causing the light to stay on preventing the cruise from engaging.

cruise control
thanks to all who have answered, I did notice that the brake light was staying on after shutting of, so just lifted the brake peddle and light went off. when trying to set cruise and it would not set i did lift up on the brake peddle with my foot but still wouldent set. called my dealer and going to take it to them and let them figure it out, they also said that they had not run into that problem yet, so hopefully they can figure it out as my bride and I are planning a trip to Oregon in Aug. and it sure would be nice to have cruise!!!! { awe the good ol days} will hopefully remember to post the results of the outcome thanks again

It does sound like it is time for a trip to the dealer. Under warranty is good.
As far as on/off, I always leave the switch in the on position. It is then ready to go when I am.
The good ol days: I just recently purchased a Vulcan 900 which is 5 speed manual, and no cruise or radio. Me, I like it. Would not want cruise with all the shifting I am now doing. Don't miss it there. Spyders? I love the cruise control on those longer highway trips.
Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.
Previously : 2008 GS-SM5 (silver), 2009 RS-SE5 (red), 2010 RT-S Premier Editon #474 (black) 2011 RT A&C SE5 (magnesium) 2014 RTS-SE6 (yellow)
MY FINAL TALLY: 7 Spyders, 15 years, 205,500 miles

thanks again ya all, rode to the dealer today and low and behold the cruise worked just fine, talked a bit and if it acts up again before our up coming trip we'll start at the brake switch. Thanks
