We looked at trailers for years....pricing out an Ultimate was much more expensive than what paid for our Droptail Trailer...we have used our Droptail trailer for 2 years now with no issues.

I use it for EITHER the Spyder or the Gold Wing. I must use the center position for the Gold Wing as it will not fit on the left or right side of the trailer due to length. We trailer our 2014 RT Limited with no problem with this trailer and it "noses" up in the V part of the trailer against our 20" stone guard (which is optional). The 4 pictures added at bottom were just a couple months ago....note that I do NOT transport with the cover on it. I only cover the Spyder when leaving it out overnight! Also, all the tie down straps were removed at this time as it was parked. It is a steel trailer that folds and has aluminum decking.
We use a Droptail trailer. I really like that it folds and stores upright in the garage and NO ramps needed - built in. Works well for the Spyder with the low clearance. The back of the trailer hydraulically lowers and the built in rear gate folds down to extend the ramp portion. Easy to use. Our Spyder RT just fits and the nose of the Spyder fits in the V part of the front of the trailer. Not a lot of spare room, but works well. The Spyder fills the whole trailer even though this is a "two up" motorcycle trailer. A bonus for us is that our Gold Wing can be hauled on this trailer (with the use of the wheel chock that is included with the trailer) as well - however, only one bike at a time (unless you have two - 2 wheel motorcycles that are "short" enough). There is a standard 8 inch stone guard and an optional 20" stone guard. I did add the 20" stone guard on our trailer. Also, we purchased an optional spare tire which bolts to the bottom of the trailer. It has a steel frame with an aluminum deck with lots of tie down points!

The Missus and I are looking for both right now: a Motorhome, and a trailer for the Spyder.
The trailer has been easy: the Ultimate is the easy choice to make!
But the house to tow it with; that's taking some time!
any 6' x 10' with a ramp back will do just fine. If you can find one with a bi-fold ramp...all the better. We use ours to haul the bike and for all other "utility trailer uses". Some will say spend thousands of dollars, but I like to be practical. We strap it down with a single ratchet strap over the top of each tire, in the linear direction. Works awesome, is simple and cheap too. Just buy 6 good d-ring style anchors, drive your Spyder up on the trailer, mark where to put the anchors and drill the holes. Use good hardware and good ratchet straps.

The big question is will your Goldwing pull the trailer with the Spyder on it ?????
I like my Aluma 7210 with the bi-fold ramp gate.
It creates an arch that is SWEET for loading your RT, or your mower, or...
The other thing, these are LIGHT which makes hitching them up really easy.
I pull a baby Aluma with my RT.

Looking to purchase a utility trailer to carry my RT-S behind our motorhome. Anyone know of a good source? I want an open type trailer.
I would suggest look at the Northern Tool offerings.. I bought a 5 1/2' X 10' from them a few years back and have logged thousands of miles with my Spyder aboard and absolutely no problems. The tail gate is long enough so the Spyder nose does not drag when loading or unloading. that size sells for around a $1,000 when they run a sale.. it has a plank floor and round rails on all sides and includes a front basket for other items. ask about a spare tire and mount and they might just include that??? (they did with me)

The Wing could pull the trailer loaded with the Spyder easy enough but that's a lot of weight behind you to steer out of a jam or slam on the brakes. ABS might help

Suggest you look at Leisure travel vans. Their b+ is the best built on the market with the exception of Bornfree and perhaps Coachouse. The LTV is on Sprinter chassis and service can be difficult and expensive. Bornfree is on Ford E450. Keep in mind the longer you are will impede your choices for parking/ overnighting. The design of LTV small motor homes is incredible. Go see one. Different floor plans. If you order, expect at least, 8 month waiting time.
Anyway, your search will entail more time and effort than purchasing a spyder. I tow my spyder behind a Class b PLEASUREWAY Plateau and is the perfect setup for us. I started towing because of airline connections from where we winter. Have fun. I use a Droptail trailer, really easy to load/ unload. Tows well.

Bob we have owned almost every combination available to camp and tow the Spyder. We now have what we think is the best combination. Our camper (tow vehicle) is a 24 foot Sunseeker on a 350 Ford. (A 450 would be better but we purchased used and it has a queen bed slide out) With our 6X14 open bed trailer we are 38 feet total. Have towed this combination over 20,000 miles with no problem. Good luck shopping its part of the fun. Bob
