The opportunity to get a great-looking bike with a four year warranty, proved to be too much to resist!

Congrats Bob, bit let's get back on target.
Gun control means hitting your target.

Wait a minute, you gave up pretty easy. The employee was shooting blindly through the door/walls while at least one more employee was out of her line of sight? I know it all went down pretty fast; but, wouldn't those (of you) who have a gun go to get your weapon (as it appears that this employee didn't have it on her person), and then attempt to shoot in line of sight?

Knowing that she wouldn’t be able to hold out forever, the female employee pulled out a gun and began shooting. Bullets flew in the restaurant, and one hit a female robber in the neck, seriously injuring her.
Sounds like it was on her person."pulled out a gun"
Sounds like she assessed the situation and used the gun as the last resort just as she should have."Knowing that she wouldn’t be able to hold out forever"
You are assuming she was shooting blindly, most doors to kitchens in restaurants have small windows in them so people do not run into each other as they come and go.
Also if someone was trying to break down the door they would have been standing it front of the door either body slamming it or kicking it. Pretty fair judgment that if you shot through it you would hit the person trying to break it down.

A quick reminder:
Even though it's only a speech from a movie: the sentiment behind it is completely true.

sensible gun control might be selling guns to those with a license and harsh punishment for those who buy them illegally or don't
have a license. no different then what having a car should be.

No. Sorry. No promises on the forum. But it will be on a different thread - this one has gotten way off track.

2nd amendment trumps 1st?
Apparently not. I started a thread but Bob had it removed by the moderator. No explanation. I think the 2nd amendment trumps the 1st amendment on this forum.

I think it was pulled since its sole purpose was to provoke an argument. Ironic that you'd provoke people who carry guns . . . but it is virtual, so there's no courage there.

No, it was to continue a discussion on 2nd amendment rights since this thread had become diluted with completely unrelated posts. There have been two threads recently on this topic, including this one, neither of which was pulled even though they were obviously designed to invite comments and opinions. Somehow mine was objectionable, possibly because it was thoughtful and factual instead of outright inflammatory.
You are free to think whatever you want of me; I'll not respond in kind.
I'm also not be posting anymore on this topic. If anyone is interested in contacting me about it, there is always PM.

You are laboring under a misconception that I'll be happy to dispel for you...
This is not a democracy, and you have no First Amendment rights in here. This is Lamont's sandbox, and we're here only because we follow HIS rules.
we enjoy good humor, technical information, bad humor, stories about rides and events, questionable humor, reviews of the latest farkles, tasteless humor (), some news, discussions about various ways to improve our bikes, and the occassional bit of mildly adult humor.
We don't like arguments!
Of course they happen: it's unfortunate, and we try to work things out amongst ourselves.
But we NEVER try to start a thread for the sole purpose of starting a ruckus.
Anyone who starts trying to "upset the applecart" in here, will have their threads and/or postings reported to the Moderator.
(I'm sure that he keeps track of who is posting the most stuff that upsets the masses.)
So keep trying to get under our collective skins, and I'm sure that you'll find out what can happen.
