    Cool Has anyone towed?

Has anyone ever pulled, towed a Bushtec Roadstar motorcycle trailer behind a RT? I live in a rual area and the roads are pot-holed and patched, and I've pulled a Can am 622 trailer before and discovered that the Can Am trailer was boucing and bottoming out, therefore scuffing the bottom of trailer so I want to hear anyone's experience with the Bushtec.

I think it's where you are and the speed you are traveling at ..... most small trailers suffer from the same suspension issues because of their light weight...... the ones with rubber torsion axels probably less ( ie the 622 ) ...... jmho .... Mike

with Mike. I've pulled both. Such small and light-weight trailers will bounce around on rough roads. You need to slow down accordingly.

Also, the 622 suspension is adjustable. It may have been set too light for the load which would allow bottoming.

I pulled A Bushtec turbo+2 for 14k and the trailer was fine. The problem is the way the hitch is mounted on the RT. Being bolted directly to the wheel , all the motion from the swingarm goes into the trailer and ended up breaking the tongue mounts on the Bushtec.
I fabricated a custom frame mounted hitch and that was the end of All the bouncing and didn't break the bottles in the cooler as before. I took it off when I sold the RT because the only thing that has more liability than a hitch is a ladder and I didn't need the worry. It's in the scrap pile behind the shop now.
