    Default dashboard glare

Good Morning, It's been cool here lately, hopefully we will ride today.

It seems I have alot of glare on the guages when I ride. It seems worse when I where white. I put a watch on the handle bar so I can see the time. Anyone else have this problem. Thanks, Mike

    Default Time of day...

sounds like a time of day and direction of the ryde. Mine is an RS and only get the glare when the sun is at a certain angle and when it is to my back I drop the instruction flap to keep the heat off the gauges. Not sure how it works on the other models...

    That's a good idea.

I bought some black gaffer tape to put on the reflective pieces on my handlebars for that reason. I'll bet your hi-viz jacket is causing some of your problem.

It's just "One of those things..."
Pete's tape trick on the leading edge of the handlebars might help.
As would getting a jacket with a darker, non-reflective surface.

I would like to see the display also but, I would rather be seen than see the display. No dark upper clothing for me.

But I wonder if you could get behind the Main Screen, and use some washers under the mounting points to tip it (either up, or down...) a bit? It might make a difference in the amount of glare that you get on the screen.

    Default glare

You mean you guys actually look at your dash! sorry could not help myself, i have noticed that when I'm wearing my leathers there is way less glare but the Black and hi-viz mesh jacket causes more glare, going to try the tape on the bars, sounds like a good idea. I added LEDs to the mirrors so we could see the turn signals.

We also added a wristwatch on the handlebars so we could see the time. I thought about the black tape on the handlebars... gonna try it today since it's sunny here. Is there a reason the info and the screen is so small?

..... Well then wear a big black BIB or paint the front black .... best of both worlds ......... But not seeing the Display & driving 40 mph in a school zone or missing a low oil warning isn't something that's in your best interest. If you think wearing a yellow or white shirt is going to make you that more visible, remember Fireman wearing yellow on Red firetrucks with loud horns get hit ANYWAY ...... Mike
