Default Something new today while riding..

After a late morning meeting with a surgeon who informed me I would be limited as to what physical activities I could participate in, until he repairs a hernia I am suffering from, I decided a few hours of wind therapy would be suitable. Well, as I exited one of the many traffic circles along my route through Harriman State Park, and I applied what I figured was just the correct amount of throttle..it happened. The right front tire of my GS rose skyward, and as things got very slow and quiet..I heard heavenly trumpets and angels singing!!
Until the Nanny kicked in and put amountndndnd did stop to the speed induced fun. Sure was fun for all of 2 seconds.

I met the nanny once on a fast turn. I found her reactions more disconcerting than the wheel lift.

Last time we rode together with a group you were leading the way. Hit the roundabout at the Bear Mountian Bridge. And you almost got whacked . Something about those roundabouts. Hope to catch you soon. Maybe at the Bear Mountian car shows on Wednesday night. Would be good to get a group together one night.

So I'm a new Spyder RT owner with 1000 miles under my belt. I have not met the Nanny as yet and am trying to figure out how to be sure she is there when I need her. Does anyone have a method to test the Nanny in a safe but thrilling way?

    Default Fun isn't it....

Get the right angle and incline and you will do it every time... then the nanny kicks in and sets it all straight... know the feeling well....

The Nanny will show herself when you manage to out drive your guardian angels, she is there to give them time to catch up. Never Ryde faster than they can follow.

Nanny is always lurking... ready to put her hand on your shoulder, and remind you that you've had enough fun already.

Yep I've met the Nanny, but never thought it was uncomfortable, just a gentle prod saying, "take it easy". But, one Saturday afternoon, turning right while leaving a stop sign, my right front lifted off the ground so gently I didn't know it until my wife asked me what I was doing. Nanny never said a word, the tire stayed off the ground until I completed the turn and straightened out and settled down gently. A wonderous event!

How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were?
