Adjustment
There isn't a lot of forward and rearwards adjustment, it's mostly rake and lumbar adjustment. I can't take photos because it took weeks to get it adjusted just right after I had the backrest repadded and reskinned to match my seats.

Actually; you can just count the number of turns that you take on the adjustment in each direction, and it should get you back to pretty darn near where you started out...
Yes, Bob I just want to see the forward and back adjustment. I have a back rest I purchased from another forum member. I have to lean to far back so before I purchase the kit i'd like to see if there is enough forward adjustment.

I actually took the adjustment screw out to give a little more rake as it felt too much like the backrest did before installing the kit.

Really none, if you mean forward and back horizontally. Only tilt, which doesn't help me much since where it enters the seat still pushes me too far forward. My position on the seat is too far forward and my lumbar is off/forward of the seat lumbar support by about an inch+ or so, and my crotch is still almost riding on the glove box. During one long trip this damaged some nerves down there permanently, affecting some feeling and capabilities, if you know what I mean, and I have to be very careful now how I sit. I have contacted BRP repeatedly over the last 2 years since the nerve damage about the need for horizontal adjustment but I've just been ignored.

My spirit of adventure is just fine, my wife's on the other hand.... Between the backrest and additional lumbar support we added, the backrest is very finicky to adjust. We finally got it just the way she likes it, she's happy, and so am I.
OOPS, just read the initial post again. Sorry, I screwed up, I was talking about the PASSENGER backrest. I guess I forget to engage my brain before engaging my fingers,

Some pics...
I screwed the adjustment screw all the way in, and then all the way out, until it was flush with the bottom of the bracket.

I hope that this helps...

Thanks for the pictures Bob. I guess I'll have to take a look at the kit when I ride up to Arctic Adventures in Rosendale.

Are you coming up to ride with us on the 20th?
11:00aam at the McDonald's in Liberty.
We're gonna figure out a fun route that takes us over to the Callicoon Brewery for a bit of a late lunch.
Carl is the Trail Boss, and will be calling the shots.
