Pictures showing rotated 90° - Why? Any fix?
I must be more computer stupid than I thought. When I post pictures on FB of my bike they come out fine. When I try to post them here they are rotated 90 degrees. Can't figure this out.
Any help?

Finally figured it out... I think. Computer was rotating the pics from my phone and took me a while to square away the computer
I take all my snapshots with the phone these days.

If ur using an iphone you need to take them with the phone horizontally and the home button to the right. Landscape mode. Should solve all ur problems. If you have an android ur on ur own lol.

I have found that for this site when getting pics from my phone, I take them larger than needed, then crop about 20% and they appear just fine.

How to change the displayed orientation of posted portrait orientation pics?

You are right in that the default orientation on this forum seems to be horizontal (landscape). Any pics that were taken in portrait orientation appear 90 degrees off. It doesn't matter what camera (or smart phone) you use. Someone on this post seems to be a moderator and indicated that they have the ability to 'fix' this issue after the fact if they are asked to. Problem is, they didn't say how to ask to have it done.

If you need to ask to get your pics 'rotated', just post it up in the thread; simply say it plainly in a post - for example, you coud post something like the following:
"Damn, all my pics are sideways! Can someone who knows how please rotate them for me?"
It works, every time! Might take a while, but it does work.

Sorry Utah, I should've been clear in my previous post - it might be best to put that 'ask' in your thread, maybe even edit one of the posts with a sideways pic in it and put the question in there.
Generally, if you ask for them to be fixed in the thread where the sideways pics appear in one of the posts, then someone will cotton on & fix them for you! Or you could follow the 'ask an admin' links, or even the 'View Site Leaders' link in 'Quick Links' in the menu bar at the top of the page, & send one of the Admins or Site Leaders a PM.
Good Luck!

Failing all of the above, you could also open your pic in just about any picture editor & rotate it to the orientation you prefer before posting it up here - it might take a bit more effort, sure, but it means your pics will ALWAYS appear the way YOU want them too, instead of in the default display mode for the device that took them.

I'll play around with that. Thanks.

I have found that if you edit and shrink your pictures just a little bit before you attach them they will come out just fine every time.
