    Default Getting a new seat

My wife just bought a 2014 RT Limited and wants to get the seat that is 2" farther back.

Where can we get one at a good price?

BRP offers a comfort seat, that places you 2" further back.
It sounds like the perfect match!

    Default Another vote...

I also went with the comfort seat and am quite happy with it. There are several out there and new ones coming out as the spyder gets more popular and the prices are varied but high. Would all depend on the budget I guess. We need a saddle store where we can test the seats out there...

I did as Gene and am very satisfied with my Comfort Seat. Can ride comfortably all day.

The Ultimate Tall Boy moves you back 1 1/2 inches, not 2 inches.

    That's great!

I had the BRP comfort seat on mine for a short time, but it reduced the passanger seating and did not fit either one of us (we share driving) so I ended up selling it for 1/2 of what I paid for it. I think it's a good option for solo riders.

I have tried Corbin, and BRP Comfort. Have the Comfort on both my current rides. The 2" setback, lumbar padding, all work so much better than the OEM "mush" version. At $600 ballpark, it is about half the price of other aftermarket seats. I like that also.

Both Bob and Cuzn have you covered.

    Default custom seat

I don't know where you live in So Cal, but in Ventura there is an excellent custom seat maker. Bob Mayer Seats (BMS). I had both passenger and rider seats rebuilt and the Can Am adjustable backrest repadded and recovered by them and are very satisfied with the results. I think the total was about fifteen hundred for all the work. For that you get a seat built to your exact measurements and comfort. You take a day and do multiple test rides as they fit the seat to your butt a little at a time. To me it's well worth the extra money for the quality.

When I put the Ultimate Tallboy on I was concerned about passenger room. She did lose a little but say she is still plenty comfortable and thats with Tallboy plus backrest. I saw other lets say larger people on the back and they said they were ok too. So I would think unless the passenger is extremely large you should be fine - but always best to try if you can. On the Ultimate the passenger backrest is more cut/sculpted to make up for some of the lost room as well.

Sadly, passenger comfort is not included with any of the aftermarket seats. The passenger usually gets a 2nd Class or Economy class version of the seating. All the manufacturers are missing the boat there. Some are better than others, but it is a crap shoot--IMO.

In 2012, I finally bought Linda her very own to drive because after 10,000 passenger miles, we just could not endure it any more.

I Have to disagree with you on the statement about (passenger comfort is not included with any of the aftermarket seats) If it is built by Russel it is built for both Driver and Passenger for both height and weight. Sure one can buy cheaper seats but then there are so many that have bought them and sold them for half price because they did not fill the bill. There may be a few out there that didn't like the Day-Long but that is one seat that I have never seen for sale because it was not comfortable.
