    Default BRP Driver backrest install

I have the instructions but they are not working for me. Does the drivers seat have to be removed to install the bracket? Can someone show a picture of their bracket installed? Thanks ... missing tapatalk... using my phone for this post.

I'll try to add a picture when I get home but....

No, you do not need to remove the driver seat. On my 2016 RT, the bracket holes are molded into the bottom of the seat and all I needed to do was align the bracket and insert the screws. Then remove the insert on the top of the seat where the backrest slides in.

Be sure you have the right backrest for your seat. I hear there is a stock version and a comfort seat version.

    Default installed - but!

I have it installed but it doesn't do anything for me ... I have adjusted the screw both ways and I still don't feel the backrest as I hoped.
Either this isn't the backrest for me or I have done something wrong.

I'm pretty sure I had to remove drivers seat on my F3 to put the plastic holder in place that the metal bracket slides into. I can't really see from your pictures if it's fitted corectly or not.

You report of not being able to feel it sounds strange, if I wind the adjustment screw forward I feel it push me in the back. I have it about half way and I'm 5' 10".

Does it fold forward and spring back correctly for passenger access?

Also, which handlebars do you have installed?

I have the original standard handle bars (not for short or tall riders).

When I installed the bracket I just fit it in the existing hole and replaced the drivers seat ... I didn't see anything else to do.

When I put the backrest on the bike the long screw is resting on top of the bracket which doesn't seem right .

Does the metal bracket push in to the plastic part you added? It should go in to a slot quite a way and it's a pretty tight fit. If not, I wonder if the plastic bracket in picture 1 is not installed correctly.

Also, the anti theft screw should be pointing to the back of the bike as it's the passenger seat that secures it.

Unfortunately gone dark now so I can't take a picture of mine and it will be Friday before I can get to it. And my instruction sheet is buried in the shed!!

You have the bracket in Upside Down.

Question Getting closer ... one more question

OK ... I changed the way the bracket is installed and removed the safety screw ... that helps a lot but I feel like I am missing a part.

I purchased the backrest used and all I received was the backrest with the safety screw attached and the bracket with a bolt attached to it

See my picture of my bracket ... should the screw on the bottom attach to something to keep the bracket from moving too much?

The speed nut goes on the bike, not the bracket. Then the bolt goes through the bracket into the speed nut to hold the bracket to the bike.

You can download the instructions at the BRP accessories web site.

Thanks ... I will try that.
I have the instructions from BRP and never got that from the picture until I read your comment.

There is a hole in the frame behind the driver's seat. The Speed-nut slides over the metal of the bike, see the bottom of instruction page 3.
I installed mine and was sure that something was wrong until I got it installed and adjusted.
