Both mine are in my heated garage (part of the house). Temps kept at 50. Do a good charge up ride. Fill gas tank--add Stabil or similar. Put on battery tender Jr. Mine sit from first black ice on the road until it leaves my rural road. Usually a couple weeks after other roads are fine. Parked from late Oct early Nov until Late March-early April.

I have not had any mice problems. I do not keep mine covered. I do give them a polish during the big sleep.

I understand Maine is different but here in Baltimore I ride year 'round so there's no prolonged storage or issues associated with it. Even after the big snowstorms the roads get cleared quickly and the riding resumes

Here in Michigan winter storage I use bounce dryer sheets tucked in all over. As well as I use Irish spring soap bars in the RV to ward them off.

Keeps everything smelling springtime fresh as well

Dyer sheets, moth balls, stuff a rag up the exhaust and intakes. I'm not a fan of covers as critters like to nest under them. Keeping your storage area free of clutter - newspapers, boxes, leaves, anything that critters use as nesting materials, will not lure them near your spyder.
