Default Blacking out chrome trim pieces

I just bought a 2016 RTS. Wondering if anyone has had any success in removing those cheap looking chrome pieces and blacking them out with Platidip? Or powder Coating? Any completed pictures would help too. Thanks.

As an experiment, I blacked out the chrome "Can-Am" pieces attached to the left and right lower panels. I wanted to see how they would hold up. So far, I am very pleased with the results. I washed and dried them, then wiped them down with rubbing alcohol. I sprayed on 5 coats of primer, lightly sanding with 500 grit sandpaper between coats, and then 5 coats of flat black, again sanding between coats. The paint has held up really well, and I plan to start painting other "chrome pieces as well. I used Krylon MAXX primer and paint.

My blacked out pieces are holding up pretty well -- so far -- it's only been a couple of weeks.
Gonna post up how they look in a few more thou miles.
