I tow my Mini Trailer by USA, a sponsor on this site, with just the regular mirrors, no problems. Try talking with Ann Meyer she has over 100,000 miles with most towing a trailer.

Default there must be a better way

get what ever type or style bar end mirrors you want, go to the Ace hardware store nearest you with the mirror and it's attachment base and replace the attachment allen head screw that currently holds on the handle bar end cap with a longer stainless steel screw and attach your mirrors to the ends of your bars. You might also need some plastic inserts to properly size the inside of the attachment bracket on the mirrors.

When your all done you should be able to see around your bunkhouse trailer quite nicely.

Ann uses her stock RT mirrors as far as I know.

    Good shopping

First - I didn't really try to ryde towing my trailer with that mirror duct taped to the handlebar... it was just an easy way to show what I needed. Second - Thanks for the leads about what to do about seeing around my trailer. I knew there was help out there! Third - how do I find Ann Meyer. I did a search, I looked at the member list but those are screen names, so I 'm not sure how to talk with her about trailering. Thanks -

Hey BigGuy I'm the Ann you're looking for. Your bunkhouse must be wider than a RT-622 or considerably taller because I have no problems seeing around mine. My stock mirrors do the job.

Thanks Ann - Yes, the Bunkhouse is a Queen-sized trailer and is just tall enough that I can't easily see around it. So - I'll try to find just the right mirrors to use when I'm pulling that camper.

I've got a set of those 'grip the top & bottom edge of your OE Mirror' towing mirrors with stretchy rubber straps that make them grip the std mirror & just put them on the std RT Mirrors - altho admittedly I have the Magic Mirror Mounts so my OE RT Mirrors don't vibrate at all & even with the std widthe extn mirrors the Magics hold them on securely!

Not sure I'd try using them if I didn't have the Magics tho, the OE mounts aren't really up to it!!

    Default Cant see

I had the same problem when I bought my aspen classic camper. I bought the dash mount kit from JT and added 6 inch ram mount extensions to it and put ram mount mirrors on it. Now I can see over and around the camper. Perfect. Plus I just pull it off when I am not towing, takes about 30 seconds.

Tricled is launching new mirrors for a wider angle view that attach over your current mirrors. Contact reggy to ask him about them. May be better option.

Do you have some details for your mirrors so I can see what you are talking about? How about a pic or two? Need to see!!

    Default Interim fix

Put convex mirrors on your fenders. At least you can see enough to know if you need to turn your head!
