Default Hey Dummy, your turn signal's on

So, what have folks done to remind them that their turn signal is on?. I see a lot of people add the signals to the mirrors, I did that too, but I can't see them. Have people added anything to the dash or anything else to the mirrors or anywhere else? I'm pondering just buying a couple small individual LED's and wiring them in....

    Ideas please..

    Default I did...

I added a small green led light on each side of the dash that has been very effective. Simply wire them into the turn signals and your good to go...

Remember, if you forget to turn them off, they automatically cancel in 20 seconds.

Many owners, including myself, have installed LED turn signal lights on the outside of their rear view mirrors. Even though they self cancel, it's one more thing to spend money on.

Yup, did it...but they are too far forward that I can't see them when I'm driving.

I wish. I believe it's actually more like 30 seconds, longer than I wish they were. I think that's about twice as long as the Goldwing cancel time. It was a little bit short.

I have mine on the outside end of the mirror. They are fairly visible but I still miss noticing the signal. I think one of the best solutions I've seen mentioned is a red or green LED behind the speaker grills. The dark region near the speaker makes them easy to see, at least according to the photos I've seen posted here.

IMHO - those LED's would have to be extremely bright to be seen in the daytime (the ones inside the speaker grills ) .....I did this but it only worked at night, and my led's were pretty bright ....... Mike

My TricLed mirror signals show up extremely well during the daytime. They're mounted on the inside frame edge, next to the glass, in direct line of sight of the driver.

CAVEAT: These LEDs are uni-directional only; they shine brightly to only one side of the (flat) wire. If they inadvertently get mounted backwards, with the bright side turned INWARD toward the mirror body (mine did) then yes, they are only faintly visible, useless in fact, in the daytime. Mine were first mounted along the top, and the solution was to pry them loose, rotate them 90 degrees downward and reglue them "bright-side out." The instructions do not tell you this, so beware!

This is on the RT mirrors, of course. I dunno about those little "hand mirrors" way forward on the RS, etc.

I just push in the turnsignal switch to cancel the "blinkity-flashery" stuff once I get through the turn...

    But HERE's an option...
Remove one of your mirrors, and attach two long leads to the blinker wiring...
Fish those leads through the bodywork, and bring it up near the handlebars...
Run them out to one of the grips... (It doesn't matter which one..)
Strip the ends of the leads, and tape one of them to the inside of your hand, and the other up near a knuckle... )

You'll know when you've got any blinking going on!

That's true if you make a sharp-enough turn, like at a corner. But if you signal a lane change or a interstate exit - any kind of gentle turn - you'll have to manually cancel the signal.

I have the TricLED strips on the outside of my mirrors, and they really help me. Sometimes when I cancel the signal, I accidentally push it the other way. The LEDs help me notice that.

This has been a gripe of mine since day one. I cant see the green blinky thingy when I'm riding during daylight hours. Dunno if I wanna splice into the turn signal wires and mount an extra idiot "reminder" light or just press that stupid tiny turn signal switch and hope for the best. Considering there is also the option of mounting a tiny reflective element just above each turn signal I will probably never splice into my wiring harness. My thoughts.

My right turn signal sticks in the "on" position. I got use to turning it off after every turn but I also installed turn signal LED lights on my mirrors which serve as a reminder they are on.

Default This is what I did to mine.

Could not tell when I bought them, but I wish they had been brighter.

I'm pretty sure I have seen OEM style connectors that you put between the one that is already there and wire that to the new LED strip.......... ...... Mike

Bingo!!!, it's usually the lane changes that I do this same thing.....press it too far, or not straight in to cancel

Found some LEDs on SuperBrightLeds I thought I'd try. Ordered two for the "reminders" and a few extra for some accent lighting.

If you're still under warranty have it replaced. I did on the 2013 RT I had because it also stuck in the right 'on' position.

They will self cancel, but like I say above, it takes about 30 seconds to do so. At 60 mph on the highway that's a half mile they're blinking away aimlessly!

Not true on my Spyder. I tested mine and if I fail to turn off after a lane change they will in fact go off on their own, but it seems to be a very long time.
