    Default Customs Question

Should be easy to do conversion to dollars (USA) $91.14 (Canada) $121.90 and Kronas (Sweden) 818.46 if the value is based on monetary exchange where its being shipped to.

Yeah, but it's the monetary limit on goods that you are allowed to bring in before customs require a declaration and tax gets applied that Russ is interested in, NewYorkSpyder. In Australia anything over $1000 au (goods + shipping) requires a customs declaration and taxes are applied. The goods stay in custom's hands until that is all sorted, and it can delay delivery by a week or more.

    Default mirror mounts

I hava a set on order since last month. Merlot has been GREAT at keeping me up to date on his anticipated deliveries. I hope to have my set sometime this month and will keep everyone informed on how easy or difficult the installation is and any special issues.

I think that with any "startup" business, there are always kinks that need to be worked out, and they may come up all at once, or one after the other. Once merlot has all of his ducks in a row, I am sure that the magnets will magically appear in our mailboxes. Although, if you have a steel mailbox, you might not be able to get them out!

    Hi oldguyinCT,

Re: if you have a steel mailbox, you might not be able to get them out!

A fellow I know in Switzerland ordered some magnets & they arrived at the same time as his new credit cards.

You can figure out what happened.

I really doubt you'll have any significant difficulties getting the Magic Mounts out of your mail box... The magnets will be all stuck together (with spacers between them) & then rolled/wrapped up in bubble wrap before being put inside a post pack - so the major magnetic attraction is going to be firstly to each other with the magnetic field radiating from the ends of the roll & then a weaker magnetic field radiating out around the sides of the roll. Besides, you'll still have those couple of layers of wrapping material between the magnets & anything else - so even if there IS a tendency of them to 'stick' into your metal mail box, the material around them should make it fairly easy to pick them up & take them out!!

As for your credit cards.... sitting a mag stripe c/card on top of or under the package itself might not be such a great idea - but probably only a major issue if it just happens to have one END of the roll sitting very close to or on the c/card's mag stripe. It really doesn't take too much distance for c/cards to be safe from mag fields, & it isn't all that far from the sides of the roll that the magnetic field starts to drop off enough that it will have little impact on anything that's not too sensitive. So I doubt it'd effect your c/cards if they are in your wallet, in a tank bag, or probably even if they're in a wallet or bag sitting on top of the dash.... but you might not want to lay your c/cards out on top of the mirror itself!!

Russ is based in Australia, wd8, so he is probably not travelling to the US for Spyderfest. I believe you will have to order them, but I'm sure he will confirm shortly.

    Hi Russ,
Thanks for the update: I'm looking forward to installing them, and no longer dreading every time that I do anything to the bike that involves removing bodywork!
