    Question

    Hay Peter,

    Always be careful when you assume

    At www.skirose.com there is all the info one needs to see how much snow there is just a few miles( and 12 minutes driving time) from where I live. I think most folks here do look in the title bar to see what the poster is writing about but maybe not.

    I thought the thread was about snow. I posted about------ snow----

    So to answer your question(s):

    The ski resort in question is Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe It is to the east of Lake Tahoe California/Nevada. It has a base elevation of 8,200 feet. www.skirose.com

    I hope that clears things up a bit but I'll also edit the original post as per your request.

    Confusion causes:::::::::::::::::::: Kaos

    PS: I don't know why some systems don't show titles for each post. My old archaic system always shows the title box ---- it may be empty but it's there. A google search for Mt. Rose is informative. Click on www.skirose.com

    Thanks for that info Kaos, NOW I can go find out a bit more about the snow in your area, & actually follow up on the resort that you referred to & made me want to know more about!

    However, the point that you seem to have missed in my earlier post is that, while I agree with you that those who can see the post title field may actually look at it & read it, there are many potential readers who just don't get that chance because they NEVER even get to see what's in the post title bar anyway - the system or phone they are using just doesn't allow it!

    So whenever you type anything into that post title area, not only do some of your posts become meaningless to quite a few potential readers, you are also restricting yourself to only reaching some of your potential readers & actively excluding many others who might be quite interested in knowing what you had to say up there.... Why you would want to do that is beyond me; so once again, I can only assume that you didn't realise that not everyone gets to see that field.

    Hence my request, which I'll rephrase & re-state - please don't put anything in that field unless you are posting the very first post in a thread. By doing that little thing you will allow more of your potential readers to make sense of your posts - and isn't that the aim?!

    Ps: Sorry, you were typing your post script while I was typing my post, so they crossed - I don't know why it happens either, but it happens to quite a few people on this & a couple of other Forums I frequent that are using the same vBulletin system, so I guess it's gotta be something to do with that...

    Thumbs up Ryding snow blower

    hi John,

    A neighbor op the street has an ATV with a snowblower deck that attaches like a snow plow. Motor is too small though as we sometimes heavy water that builds up into clay like ice and needs at least 10 horsepower to throw. Good luck in your search.

    Yep, upstate South Carolina you can ride year round (except some weeks along the way allowing for rain and some occasional ice or snow). Four seasons and the mountains are near by...history all around. Sorry, not trying to rub it in...but I do love where I live.

    Cheer up, not many weeks of winter left.
    Blessings!

    Our favorite meteorologist has been saying that we're probably looking at 5" to 8" of snow on Sunday.

    One word, "snowmobiling".
    More coming, to those that can enjoy the winter. Part of the new England seasons. The winter goes by too fast for us. Was that more than one word ?

    Redfield NY.. 122 inches last week alone. Move up there for one of those weeks, 2 inches will be a joy. We had our annual 'Great Eastern Whiteout' vintage snowmobile affair this weekend 2/11-2/12, Not enough ice on the lake to race & not enough snow on the trails for our breakfast ride this morning. We are getting freezing rain & snow right now though.

    It is snowing in my area now.

    I am ok, I have all the necessities for the snow storm. Looks like I'll get 8 to 12 inches of snow, by the time snow storm stops on Monday night.

    San Antonio isn't bad - 88 yesterday - a little too warm for February but we're not complaining. Today overcast and 79 - almost sweater weather!

    Just for kicks I checked the forecast for Watertown CT where I used to live 10-12", down here in the land of Galax 70's and windy.
