a good cheap vid camera ?
hi guys from aus.
i want a video camera for my rides but dont want to spend a fortune.i think you guys have a larger selection and knowledge than here maybe.
whos using what and the good and bad.i have a early go pro but it drives me nuts with too many selections and i seem to take still shots instead of vid.
so i want a simple one button easy set up,if there is such a thing.
cheers stu.

Stu,
I purchased an ion air pro lite last year and am very happy with it ($40). One touch operation, mounted it to the side of my helmet.
You can get them on Amazon

Video camera
Target sells a Vivitar one for about $40, online. Does video, stills and comes with mounts and and a plastic rain case. No remote, just one press operation. Works fairly well.

Same here, the Ion air pro so far is pretty amazing for the price. It so cheap that I wont have an "oh f*ck" moment if I drop it , lose it or it gets stolen.

It may be higher than you want to go, but the Cyclops cgx2 actioncam might be worth looking at, it sells for $299, and includes a lot of things that are optional on other cameras. There is a write up in the February issue of Motorcycle Consumer News by Fred Rau, and he really likes it.

I have a Cobra 805 or 8 something, dash cam, great quality and it gives you your speed, if you ever needed it to prove that you weren't speeding. Also your GPS coordinates. Got it at Costco $99
One of the hardest decisions you'll ever face in life is choosing whether to walk away or try harder.
