I have Merlot's Magic Mirrors fitted to my RTS and they are a fantastic Idea. I can actually refit my mirror to the bike one handed. They are a solid mount and all wobble and movement is gone. And no more bashing and crashing to get them off and on. And you can fit a tether if you want but not needed.
I did a demo at a shed day a couple of Saturday's ago and the interest shown by the RT rides is great. No more worries about that little plastic part breaking or the Secure "spring" on the lower clips stretching.

I also have been a Test Jockey for Merlot for at least a month (or so) and finding this a great idea and advancement for the Spyder.

I know that I asked for pictures... (And Thank you, for providing them!).
Does anybody have a video that shows the installation of these, and how well they hold things in place?

(Sorry: I just HAD to ask! )

    Default Great product

I hope you can get these stateside soon. I like them. Far superior to the terrible original mounts.
    Will be awaiting updates.

    Thank You

Never broke a mount, but a long while back got rid of the oem mirrors entirely and fabricated my own parts to mount less cumbersome mirrors.

If your mounts had been available then, pretty certain I would have gone that route. Great idea and solution to the oem design.

Coming from you Noboot that is quite an endorsement, I replaced my windshield middle bracket with the one you produced on my 1st Spyder 2010 SE5 RT I was so impressed with it, I had the dealer transfer it to my 2015 RT SE6
I will order Merlot's Magic Mirrors once they are available on his website
There are some great upgraded products for us Spyder riders
    Keep up the excellent work

    Thanks Mike,

I went to the site this morning, and I watched the video yesterday. I just wasn't sure how it all works.

My bike is a 2017 RT-S, with 8000 kms on it. I have had my mirrors off once, and plan on having them off again in the spring. I am not sure at this time if I need these new attachments, but am interested, and will be watching.....

    I have a question:
Have these mirrors been given a really good test over a really ROUGH washboard-style road surface?
(I'm just wondering what it might take; to shake them loose... )

I'm not really into 'Spyder Abuse' either (altho others may question that!) but having driven/ridden quite a few miles on what I was reliably assured were some of the USA's roughest & most corrugated back country roads as well as travelling most of Australia's, so I know how bad they can get, I'm pretty positive that these Magic Mirror Mounts have been tested on roads somewhat rougher than the majority of the USA's 'formed roads' & even most of our 'made roads'!

I live fairly well outside the nearest city here in South Aust, and I'd guess that probably about one third of the local roads around here aren't sealed at all & many of those see little if any maintenance from one decade to the next; so many of them are quite rough, corrugated somewhat, &/or fairly rutted - lots of car drivers won't even take their cars onto them! I don't always 'seek them out', but neither do I go out of my way to avoid those dirt roads when I'm out ryding, altho when I hit them I do slow down more on the Spyder, especially if the dirt is badly corrugated, than I probably would if I was in a 4WD or a Rally prep'ped Car, but regardless, the Magic Mounts just do NOT move; in fact, the whole mirror assy vibrates far less now on these roads than they did with the OE mounts! And some of our sealed roads aren't that crash hot either, with numerous (maybe even 'millions'!) of patches 'quilting' the entire surface so that ryding (or driving) on them becomes quite uncomfortable & jarring at times, especially if you are doing any speed much more than a brisk walking pace - but the Magic Mounts still don't budge!

I'm pretty convinced that the Magics are a heap better as Mirror Mounts than the OE placcy gear, and I'd hazard a guess that I'm probably one of the relatively few Spyder ryders around who has ridden their Spyders on roads that were rough enough to make the OE mounts just give up & let go (& they did!) The Magic Mounts show NO sign of doing the same..... but I'm still not gonna 'crash test' my Spyder to check them out under the most extreme circumstances!!

Still, I'd be pretty confident in saying that these Magic Mounts have been tested to extremes I doubt too many Spyder Ryders will exceed, and so far, they've stood up to all 'road' surfaces and anything & everything thrown at them! If you want to test them under 'more extreme' conditions, you might just hafta buy a set & see for yourself! Me, I'm pretty convinced that the Magic Mirror Mounts FAR exceed the OE Mirror Mounts AS Mirror Mounts!

(And btw, NO, I do not receive any commission or kick-backs based on sales of these mounts or anything else - I just appreciate a bloody good idea & the simple execution of said idea to improve our Spyders & make easier our use & appreciation of them! )

    Russ & Peter,
Thanks for the reassurances. As I was typing my question; I was wondering just how well the OEM mounts would hold up to the same test.
Please let me know when you're ready to start shipping them in my direction.
Oh! Will you be set up to accept payments via Pay-Pal?
