    Default Dabbing

    What is dabbing?

Recently a new congressman's son was "dabbing" while Paul Ryan was swearing in the new pol. It looked to me like he was stifling a sneeze. But the discussion on TV indicated it wasn't that. But they never explained it. Is it wiping one's nose on one's sleeve?

Am I the only one who doesn't know this?

    Hi Patti,
I was also confused over the Hullaballoo regarding this...
Evidently it's just a senseless and stupid pose; probably to show that you're part of the brainless mass of sheep who are wannabees!

Another way to potentially explain it:
Do you remember the Streaking fad of almost 45 years ago?
That was OUR generation's version of it...

I checked a dabbing video out, and I guess I've been dabbing for a while, especially when working in the hospital.

I'll bet that when Dad got the kid home: he discovered that this foolishness was the result of some prodding from the players on the football team...

I think that it's only a gang sign, if you dive deeper than the first knuckle...

I tried that once, Bob.......and NEVER did it again....it appears I was careless enough to leave my shorts next to a bull ant nest......the memory of the pain still brings tears to my eyes

I guess I am from a younger generation. I graduated in the early 80's, and streaking wasn't a thing, but mooning was very popular. I will not say if I did or didn't do it, but life was a blast back then. Lol!

Consuming MJ is a lot more complicated that when I was young and it grew wild in the road-side ditches around here. More potent to, so I hear.

Still grows wild in the Rock Island area of Iowa/Illinois. I lost $1500 because of the stuff. I loaned money to my son to buy a car, he picked up a wild cannibis plant, and it was lying on the back seat when the cop stopped him for a traffic violation. They confiscated the car and when I asked about getting it back because he hadn't paid me back the cops basically said, "TS, a loan to a kid is considered a gift and since I wasn't on the title as lien holder I was out of luck." The wild stuff is much weaker than the modern cultivated stuff. In years past it was grown as hemp and used to make rope. The Rock Island Arsenal manufactured rope using hemp raised by local farmers back at the turn of the 19th century for the Army. Guys figured out if you smoked it you got high, hence the phrase, "Smoking rope!"

So many funky/crazy words out there, I'm at a loss to figure them out, and I don't waste my time, so much for the English language.
