    Default Y Gaskets - I switched!

As suggested in other threads, I decided to inspect/replace the exhaust Y gaskets with the Honda equivalent on my '09 SE5 GS. I was shocked by my findings. At 15K miles, the right side gasket was completely gone. The left side was still intact, but was starting to deteriate. Like others, I was impressed with the quality and price of the Honda gaskets. I can now mark this off of "things to do"!

Definitely something to keep an eye on. At my 12k service, 2 of mine were completely gone and one was halfway. There is no telling how long this condition existed. Obviously, the recommendation to change these at the 12k mile mark is too late. My dealer replaced them under my service agreement, but I am sure they are the same "not too reliable" gaskets. I absolutely will install the Honda gaskets next time around.

The Honda gaskets should also last significantly longer...much better quality.
