New Spyder dealership in Abilene Texas, Lone Star Powersports. They also have a store in Amarillo. They have two locations in New Mexico, Clovis and Roswell (under the name of Zia Powesports). ...
Try Clem’s power sports in Enumclaw, they have always mounted tires on my RT. I just bring the tire in with me.
Faulty reverse actuator
Thanks
After 40 year absence from TX in Washington, just moved back. There are 2 dealerships each about 100 miles away from me. One in San Angelo and one in Granbury. Can anyone recommend either of their...
Yes it is the reverse actuator switch. I had the same failure too, same symptoms as the OP.
I had the same ignition problem last year. Would start even without key inserted into ignition. Key would not turn. Had to have a new ignition installed. Down for two weeks while waiting on parts...
I had mine in for service a few weeks ago, fluids and tires, asked them to adjust right saddle bag because it would open even on smooth roads. Did not matter whether it was locked or not it would...
I work at one of our mountain National Parks. We have several MC accidents each year, some involve other vehicles but most are single bikes. Usually one or two fatalities each year. I have worked...
Not true. In Washington there are separate 2 and 3 wheel endorsements. The 2 wheel does not cover both.
This is nothing new, Boeing, Airbus, the Brazilian aircraft maker, all have been in and out of these disputes for years. They drag on for years before being settled (sometimes by the WTO) and all of...
First read this on a hot tub cover manufacturer's website. Use olive oil. I have tried it and it works almost instantly, at least on sap from Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar.

I had the same symptoms, just as JKMSPYDER, I also had the reverse actuator switch replaced. By the way occasional "E" I got before the switch was replaced has never happened since. Was a bear for...
This explanation is one of the best I've ever seen on site. To the point without unnecessary commentary and easy to understand for even those like me that know nothing about how systems like this...
Got to get out for a 60 mile ride and all the shaking on the mirrors is gone. Tight as a drum.
Installed mine today, watched Russ's video one time and did it just as he had. Took about 20 minutes and I am no mechanic. This is the single best product improvement idea to the spyder that I have...
Jay Leno did a segment on these in his show. They are already on the road in Japan and France. Looked like fun
Reverse actuator, haven't been many failures. Like the gear position sensor can cause odd shifting problems. Dealers have hard time diagnosing reverse actuator failure.

i bought my RtL from I-90 2 years ago. My experience with them is a mixed bag. Even though they are only 7 miles from home I typically now take mine to Clem's in Enumclaw for service 36 miles away....
I also had the E flash periodically from the first ride up until this past December ( just short of 2 years). The reverse actuator failed. Since replacement have not seen the E once.
I've lost a belt on chip seal that was about a week old and I had the missing rock guard installed. Also had slowed down to about 30 mph in a 50 zone. I avoid chip seal now that has not been down...
The DESS failures are bad, no one wants to be stranded on the side of the road or without a ride for weeks waiting for service/parts, but your failure is truly frightening. The potential for serious...
On long rides I use bicycle shorts/underwear with built in gel pads. Easily ride 10-12 hours a day with them.
If it gets where I don't feel comfortable going more than 200 miles I will get something else other than a Spyder. Not there yet but close. It's really too bad because I do enjoy the ride immensely.
No DESS error. This is just a different (new?) failure mode for the ignition switch.
Two and a half weeks ago I pull the Spyder out of the garage to wash it. Start up normal, pull it out and hit the kill switch ( I always use kill switch) to shut down, engine shuts down, turn the...
I had two Seattle area dealers quote close to 250 for changing tire. Clem's in Enumclaw did it for $90. I think they recently went up to $100.
