Relatable story. I was recovering from a broken ankle after a track crash and while I was hobbling with a cane, I had to scratch the itch and tried out a Spyder. A few years later I got one so my SO...
2008 Spyder GS SM5 (5spd manual) with lots of upgrades: comfort seat, Givi saddle bags and top case, Heli-bar risers, tank bag, short sport windscreen (shown) and tall touring screen, Stiebel air...
Then according to the PDF I linked, you're anywhere between 8K and 10K depending on final drive ratio.
Also consider WHERE you're going to tow. Mostly flatlands at sea level can run heavier weights than in hills or mountains at elevation. We tow in the Rocky Mountain states and I try not to exceed 80%...
Or if it's the rear tire, tell 'em you need one as a spare tire.
I can't recall if TireRack sells non-complete sets (ie <4), anyone know?
What style cab? What engine, transmission, rear axle ratio, 2wd or 4x4? Depends on a lot of things, you can tow anywhere between 4000lbs to 8750lbs. See PDF in link.

That is beyond awesome! Congratulations!!
Check the VIN with the dealer - there was a recall to fix a faulty gas cap, and another for fuel vent hose. Make sure these were done.

BRP comfort seat. Without that I would've sold the thing.
Thanks for sharing. Great video!
To the OP. Curious why you got rid of the Tiger 1050? I know a guy who's about your size and he loves his Tiger because he looks like a circus bear on anything smaller/shorter. Another friend of mine...
A lot of Spyder owners won't even get near a gravel road for fear of splitting a drive belt. Buy a BMW R1200GS, problem solved. Plenty of power, upright comfy seating position, luggage, not a bagger,...
My right to own and use aftermarket exhausts shall not be infringed! They'll have to pry my pipes from my cold, dead, hands! ;)
Mostly soap and bucket and low pressure spray to rinse. On the rare occasions when it's really grimy I try to keep the high pressure spray below the level of the tires. In addition to the instrument...
I simply said the Spyder is OURS, problem solved. Now, motorcycles are another story. She has her two, I have my 4... no chance she's eyeballing mine.
Besides, buying a new helmet is fun!
The Givi PLX-770 mounts were produced for the Spyder for a few years. They are rarer than hen's teeth. If you are handy with welding and tube bending you might be able to fab up and adapt existing...
Since we already are used to the definition of a tail gunner. Taking a page from air force jargon, you can break up a squadron of bikes into smaller flights. Each flight would have a flight leader...
We use the RAM X-grip with a ball mount, mounted to our Heli Bar riser plate.
Depends. If I'm riding hard on the sport bike - leathers. General riding around - riding jeans with armor or Carhartts. Spyder - Carhartts or regular jeans. Touring - my 3 season ballistic mesh pants.
Plug it until you can get a new tire. C'mon, it's not like a regular motorcycle that will fall over if you get a flat. Shops won't plug a tire, too much liability.
IMO a laser is just a tool, in the wrong hands it probably isn't any more accurate than string and tape measures. As long as the measurement technique is based off the rear wheel, any alignment jig...

It can be done, BRP (aka Bombardier) better be paying attention.
Personally, I would rather ride when it's colder but dry, than if it were warmer but raining. To me, being wet is more miserable than being cold; even with proper rain gear the humidity just feels...
Here's how to program a pre 2014 key. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8xbXEE_ky4, buy our own Finless Bob.
I would not Spyder much below freezing, but I would snowmobile, it's just a matter of having the right gear and preferences. If I had full heated gear and good snow tires on a Spyder, sure why not.
We ran valve cap TPMS sensors on our 5th wheel and tow rig all around the country for a year. Rubber valve stems and all. No problems whatsoever. A friend had metal 90 degree valve stems on his...
