So after yet another battery (got one for $125 MotorAtt AGM yellow battery), I doubt it was the culprit.

battery tested at 12.4 or so and the bike has sat for a few days, tested it after it started and peaked at 13.-14 volts
Yes when the battery came in the mail, it wasnt charged, so i had it on the charger overnight and put it in the next day
I have left it for a few days and the battery still starts the bike right...
sorry 2009 Spyder SM5
I bought a new battery and connections are tight, i had to put in a new ground bolt underneath the seat b/c it was loose and stripped-- guess i should double check that also,...
I have some fault codes, DBS and VSS codes, check engine light comes on and off, when i do the code search (the mode hold and 5 bright clicks of the switch), says NO active codes..
I am wondering...
Well after i got my new battery yesterday (had to be charged overnight) , i put everything back in, made sure the terminals were tight and started it up
Same codes as before, but P0600 (ecm...
Update: I checked the terminals on the battery and the positive (red) was a tad loose, going to the hardware store to get star washers and taking the battery to be tested to make sure its still good...
The old one would not tighten anymore with the nut, when we pulled it, the threads were bad at the end so it would not hold..
Not sure if this is related or not, but I had a bad ground bolt underneath my seat, was loose and would not tighten
After several hours, we managed to get the old one out and put a new one in,...
Well, after a few hours (2), my dad came over an assisted..
What a crock, yes we removed the back seat panel, the side panel and the fuse box underneath the seat..
Finally got it out and the...

So my bike was doing the funky DPS fault codes, etc, check engine light and then I would restart the bike and nothing
Would happen either a few miles out or when I went right out the driveway
...
i looked toggle switches, didnt see anything similar to what i have (the push button)
They are not required to pass inspection, i just had that done, just want them working in case I need them or if i sell the bike, I would like everything working..
Ill try and research the...
Thank you so kindly, can you send me a link or part number when you have some extra time, I have no idea what to look for and yes I dont need factory, $20 sounds much better than $60
Just like...
So after having my brother trace the bad headlights to the fuse in the back panel... I asked him to look into the fog lights, never worked since I have owned the spyder
He said there was power on...
Update: Fuse in the back panel 30V was bad, didn't even know one was back there, would have made sense to put it in the MFB with the relay..
All is well with the world, and yes I did chip a wire...
I doubt its that considering I put the old ones back in, even if one was backwards, the probability if doing all the bulbs (new and old) the wrong way is pretty low percentage
ITs not even...
So i decided to upgrade to LED lights 2009 SM5 Spyder as the original ones are not very bright..
Looked easy enough, put a flat head into the 2 notches in the cluster popped right out
I took...
True, i might try that, maybe that thing finally crapped out... Just have to trace the wires and see whats what
This morning, I did take it out and its a little better, but still lacks power like...
yes did a search and I am going to run the other hose from the gas tank out of the canister to the back outside fender with extra hose and filter..
Actually someone suggested I plug the valve purge hose going to the cannister, started it up and seems to idle nice and with with power..
I did notice that clamp and hose it pulled right off...
2nd UPDATE:
I changed the purge valve, when the new fuel filter was installed, no change...
When the purge valve was changed, it does not hesitate or surge, but runs rough now... Have new coil,...
I think the easier solution is to pay $65 for a new programmed key... Your solution if that sounds like a needle in the haystack, plus when I resell the bike, not sure how the new owner would feel...
The trunk is fine to open and close and yes I did order some bike cable to do the manual open, no way I am using the key anymore
How to i ger the DESS disabled ?..
can i put a little moisture on the hoses to see if any bubbles or anything comes from the hose?...
so since i have to take the hose off eventually to replace the valve, the top hose going into it, i just un clamp it and then plug it, start the bike and what am i looking for engine wise?
Again,...
