When I want to top up my battery I just plug my adaptor into the socket in the rear trunk.
Works anytime as it is direct to battery and not affected by ignition switch.
Just don't plug something in...

My personal opinion is that the "problem" may not necessarily be the gauge but the "float/sender and the tank.
From my recollection most bikes don't have gauges for a very good reason...."slosh"....

I would have thought in BRP's interest to have these "little problems" sorted before they became "BIG problems".
