Some day you're going to want to strap an extra bag behind you back there, and you're going to say, "GAAH!":gaah:
You're right of course....and overall it's been a great machine with just minor issues that I've been able to handle myself for the most part.
I just needed a rant this morning.:)
....and don't forget...placing those two drains just ONE INCH further apart than my catch pan's diameter, so I can't drain both with the same pan at the same time.:banghead:
....and the two filter...
I got this this morning in an email from Amsoil. It certainly supplemented the tiny bits I knew.
...
I have floorboards, so my crutches get attached to those at the bottom and to the passenger grab rails at the top.... both ends using double-sided velcro straps.
<------- Just like in the pic
I think y'all are correct, but I don't have a lot of experience with brake assemblies. The stealership replaced the pads once before and after that financial raping I decided to learn how to do it...
thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you
Yep, now that it's all back together with the new pads the pulley lines up with the bracket.:D
The pads were pretty near gone. When I pulled the pulley off to get to the mounting bolts for the brake assembly, I turned the spline shaft all the way CCW (several complete revs) and it looks like...
It's a 2012 SE5. I'm getting ready to change rear brake pads for the first time. While I'm at it, is there a way to correct this situation, where my parking brake pulley isn't lining up with the...
That is what I did. Seems to be working OK for now, but the rear of the pulley is rubbing on it's spring at the spring retainer point. Maybe that is why the pulley was returning so slowly.
That...
Nope. That won't come out unless I remove the brake cylinder itself. Rotating CCW it comes out about a half inch then stops. Being retained by something outboard of the cylinder.
Sounds...
Yeah..... I've had one since day one..... and the parts diagram doesn't single this part out for some reason. Never shows it as being removed from the caliper assembly. Curious....:sour:
...
You're right, of course. Tomorrow first thing I'll do it.
I'm probably over thinking it anyway. There's no reason for anything small to be in there if it works the way I think it does.
When I de-actuate the parking brake pedal, the pedal comes up fast, but the brake pulley releases really slowly. This puts slack in the cable, allowing it to pop off the pulley.
I removed the...
8500 miles on mine. I've done it 3 times and my dealer has done it twice. They tell me nothing is wrong.
Riiiiiiiiight..... Translation: "We're not idiots who spent 2 grand on tracing a shifting problem to the shifter switch.":banghead:
I have to do this about every 1500 miles.
Sold, pending payment.
That sounds great!
I don't think I've ever gotten over 31 mpg myself.
I'm sort of large though... and perhaps like acceleration too much. :D
I'm going to give Troyboy a final price tomorrow, with the shipping included.
If he agrees, it's sold. If not... I'll let you know.
$220 plus shipping via UPS.
If you're interested, tell me where you are and I will find out how much shipping will be before we finalize the deal.
Payment by USPS money order.
Well, the parking brake is engaging on the 5th click of the pedal, so there should be plenty of free-play there...... and for sure the brake was all the way off, or at least the PEDAL was...
I took it out for a couple of short rydes this morning and here's what I noticed.
After returning I checked the temp on all the rotors, and found both front rotors cool to the touch, but the rear...
Thanks, wyliec. I found that thread.
Looky... paragraphs again!
And, I will have it looked at next week, Scotty.
But, unlike your experience, I never touched this adjustment over the past 4300 trouble free miles. Perhaps it moved itself? You convinced me it's a hot fluid issue. Many thanks for that. I'm...
Yeah, I'll be taking it in next week, after the holiday. By the time I realized I had a problem and got safely off the road, ALL the brakes were hot, but I now suspect it started with the rear...
No hand brake here, and 4300 miles on the original foot brake adjustment without a problem. I wonder if my parking brake didn't release when I took it off before I left, and that could have heated...
I got a few miles from home on my 2012 RS SE5, when I noticed the smell of hot brakes. As I left off the throttle the Spyder slowed down abnormally fast, so I pulled off the road into a parking lot....
