I agree with you. If you take time to do proper maintenance, the gas cap will work fine. I cleaned mine and made sure the spring assembly
pushes up freely.

I purchased my 2015-f3 sm6 on 06/16 and it has a little noise while in neutral. My 2008 1200 sportster has the same noise
in neutral.
