UPDATE: The mechanic "relearned gear position sensor, tightened battery terminals and test drove for 30 minutes". It is shifting fine now. All covered under warranty.

We've got an appointment for it tomorrow. Hoping it's a lighthearted gremlin. :pray:

Thank you all very much. Heated gear is definitely a thought too. A friend has heated gear from fingers to toes all tied into her Spyder battery but I'm not there yet.
