That sure doesn't look like a Ryker ;-) (the topic of this thread).
Yes, since this is the Ryker forum, I presumed that was a given.
Yes, this isn't a touring bike. I'm wondering about 300-500 mile trips. I live in Texas, and that's a common one-day trip.
This is true of [some?] extended warranties on cars, too. I got money back on previous car.
Dealer/dealership/technician. What's the actual difference? It's all the same place and from whence I am receiving the information. I get that the owner isn't the one I'm speaking to, buy one of...
I have a 2012 RS with about 14,400 miles on the tires. It's time to replace the rear tire, so I purchased a 215/60R15 per recommendations found on spyderlovers.
I just received a call from the...
I recently rode some of the twistiest roads in my area (the Three Twisted Sisters ride), and was able to keep up easily with the two-wheelers in my group. They were skeptical at the outset, but the...
Some of the images I saw of the 2018 models displayed Rever on the screen. That's what I use on my phone when riding.
Maybe move to the Off Topic section, since it's not Spyder related? Or the joke thread?
Not sure about your travel dates, but be aware that Galveston is having the Lone Star Rally 11/2 - 11/5, which has placed additional demand on hotels. http://www.lonestarrally.com/
I have found the following product to be incredibly useful, including plugging in an air pump that draws more than 2 A. I just connect it to the SAE plug under my seat used for attaching a battery...
For my 2012 RS, 12,000 mile service includes:
- Replace air filter
- Check bearing seals on real axle
- Replace brake fluid
- Replace coolant
- Pressure test cooling system
- Check/replace...
I see that there is a company that rents Spyders in Waikiki. I wonder if they might have some ideas about maintenance. After all, they have a fleet to maintain.
When I first got my 2012 RS, I encountered this problem. I discovered it was nothing more than my foot position unintentionally depressing the brake while riding. Nanny didn't like the brake being...
My 2012 RS has one of these: http://www.can-ambrpparts.com/oemcatalogs/p/all/can_am_roadster_accessories-electrical/5342f98f6d81f5837c18d10a/12-v-power-outlet-kit
I simply plug an adapter into it...
I think the video mentioned that they make units for the Shoei. https://www.sena.com/product/10u/
The newer mesh network devices are much better than repeaters. A repeater will typically only have half the speed of the the router it is extending. Mesh networks work differently, and can provide...
I am fortunate enough to have a gas station close to me that sells fuel that does not contain ethanol. Whenever possible, I choose to do that. Now, when out on a ride, I rarely have find non-ethanol...
I recently saw a YouTube video by a Spyder mechanic warning people that certain LED strip lights on Spyders, as they will mess with the canbus. He said he has had to fix a number of bikes that were...
My personal preference is to shift into 5th at about 65 MPH. I'll leave it to the mechanic types to argue over the "right" and "wrong" gear for a given speed.
Thanks for this info. Ordered mine today. It has been quite hot and humid in San Antonio, with heat indices around 105 degrees, 70+% humidity. Heck, I'll use this to work on the yard, too.
Just ordered mine. Even my Comfort seat leave my butt aching after about an hour. :(
I prefer to match the gear to my speed/revs and driving conditions. YMMV.
When I first started ryding my RS in December of last year, my death grip was so bad my right hand would go numb. :yikes: I'm still working on relaxing my grip, and no longer get the numbness.
Yes. My 2012 RS SE5 does the big clunk into reverse/1st. Worried me at first, too. Ride on! :spyder2:
That's too bad. Getting one's stuff stolen can take the fun out of an event. Now, here in San Antonio, Texas, theft of property from vehicles is such a problem and so common, we have billboards...
My 2012 RS does this from N to R and N to 1st. Freaked me out at first. Turns out it's normal. What a relief.
Mine is mounted on the left side of my helmet. I am unwilling to give up the ability to pan by attaching it to the bike. Just my preference. YMMV.
PM sent.
The instruction to touch the phone to the FOBO device is serious. When I first installed mine, they failed to pair because I wasn't doing that.
