Test road a SE5 and was quite impressed with the shifting and what not. But in the end, just had to have a manual. Just something about having the clutch.

The number of folks without problems far out number the those with problems. I ride a 2008 and find it to be both safe and reliable.

Scotty, that is a good point about the friction point exercises. It does help with using the clutch. But with the SE5 solid clutch skills are not a requirement for Spyder riding.
