You should be OK. I just looked at mine. The washers between the magnet and bike are there to give space for the body plastic to fit under the magnet. I don't have any washers under the screw head...

You mean feed the battery from the maintainer through a USB port on the Spyder. That can't be made to work at all. USB is 5 volts and the bike electrical is 12 volts. Plug your maintainer into a USB...

I believe the shifter switch is a silicone rubber bubble with a copper or brass metal film. When the switch is pressed a nubbin pushes down on the bubble and makes contact with another copper patch....
