Late to this question but....... Has anyone installed the ST2 Brake Module from www.st2-systems.com ?? It is a Motion sensor technology used to detect deceleration on the bike and therefore blinks...
Has anyone mentioned checking the tire pressure? When I purchased a USED 2011 Rt from a "dealer" in DFW the two front tires were underinflated to something like 10 psi. The thing was shaking like...
Actually, I realize this is a 2013 actually not a 2008. I guess that I did not explained the hitting the ground issue. It looks this lady has dirven her Spyder on rocks or pavement that actually...
Question on the floorboard latch. What was the original #BRP reason for that sytem? Were they concerned that the brakes will fail regularly that this system would be activated and therefore was...
See this problem twice posted in the last week. Those bolts are not staying in place and the damage can be serious if the interior parts were damage. Good luck. The inside threds may have been...
Looks like the engine and suspension parts may be of use for someone with asimilar model, Brakes calipers etc. It dependes what the potential buyer may need. Other option is look for a used...
I friend's 2013 RSS is showing the Brake failure light on and off front time to time. The right floorboard has dropped down a few times while this takes place under hard braking. I was wondering if...
I use 22psi in the front tires and 28 psi in the rear tire on our 2011 RT with original Kenda tires. (We ride two up - almost to max weight limit of the Spyder) From reading other posts I think you...
If you had the easy way to dismount the tires from the rims or take them to a local tire shop and get the remounted and balanced then it may not not be a bad idea to rotate them every 5000 or so...
One video you can watch on you tube by lamonster garage explains the aligment process and interpretation of the result and problems to consider. Very educational (to me at least)...
I am what you consider an "Oldtimer" and in that many years 67 so far never have I replaced the brake fluid in any on my cars or motorcycles just because. The only semi valid reason is if the fluid...
Just wondering if you did a catalitic converter removal (cat-delete) Some owners do that and that could change the mixture being put into the intake by the computer and injectors since they dont get...
"Not cheap, but reasonable to protect a $30,000 machine." Enough said.
I believe the 2014's and up and all the 3 cylinder engines have hydraulic lifters so the valves are not adjustable. Some dealers come with all kind of stuff to make a quick buck. I am glad I have...
Exactly my point and believe. Some owners think that if we are willing to fix Spyders and do basic maintenance we are somehow crazy or imcompetent freaks. Who do they think works at the dealership...
Niken Suggestion
I have seen some good reviews on line but they are not a Spyder on the design area. They handle like any 2 wheel motorcycle and fall down on the ground if the kick stand is not...
Not that unusual to find Spyders with VERY LOW miles. Appears to me that many (several) people buy them on impulse and park them in a garage after a few miles. Either because they get sick...
Both machines are made by the same #BRP company. Snow machines/mobiles were their original design. So the Spyder is basically a Snowmobile with Wheels!
I was unde the impression that after 2014 all...
I purchased MY 2011 In DFW in February with 3500 original miles. Never driven a Spyder. Only two wheeled Japanese Bykes. Completed the deal at the dealer . Aired up the front and rear tires and...
So far I put another 3000 miles since I found the screw in the oil pan. So I assume it is not as vital or it would has self destroyed by now. Ready to trade it in! And move on to a new hobby...
Refreshing review. I own a 2011 RT standard. It is not a bad machine and the price was right for the condition and very low miles that mine had when purchased in February. Everyone say "buy a new one...
I have a "NEW to Me" 2011 and just did an oil change. The other stuff appears not necessary at this time. The tires appear in good shape, Brakes operate fine, No hoses are leaking. Only mayor issue I...
That is weir why are the dealer not consulting with the Manufacturer directly who made the product that They are trying to solve a problem on. Bring the questions directly to the source. BRP is...
Put the front wheels on ramp and you can access all the plugs (at least on my 2011) I ordered the filters and drain plug gaskets all included for like $35 bucks form Lamonster garage on line. I did...
I just purchased a 2011 RT S5 with 3500 miles for $9000. Everything was kind of Ok until I did an oil change and found a small screw attached to the oil plug inside the engine. Asked a local dealer...
Have you checked the level of the oil in the crankacase? It may be empty and hopefully the engine is not ruined. These things use oil and two years without checking it is a long time.
Good luck....
Speedycoop. please don't forget to file your case with NHTSA. It is important to create a record of these failures by the manufacturing company #BRP. My Spyder had the same problem and BRP refused...
Bob, Wondering if you filed your case with NHSA, Even if it was repaired by the manufacturing company under warranty. It is a good idea to file and accumulate some historical cases. Here is the place...
The local Spyder dealer asked for $550 to open the engine. (IE: take it apart and open your wallet later for the put it togther now than it is in our shop). I have learned a long time ago that "if...
Just curious what is ACTUALLY done by dealers during the 3000 miles service? Is there a list somewhere or is this all a "mistery" that only high price dealers are allowed to know? Putting your VIN...
