F3's fans blow forward when stopped or moving under 6Mph - this helps a lot with heat management. I just rode from work for an hour and a half in 90+ degrees and traffic, in full face helmet and...
If you take a look at Martin's videos - he compares different set-ups, like cat-delete pipe with Akropovic and stock muffler. Stock muffler sounds much better with the cat-delete pipe. The...
Motorcycles in my state don't need emission inspection, plus I only installed the pipe after the warranty expired, since I had the same concerns, but a lot of members here had no issues with warranty...
I expected the smell - you remove catalytic-converter, you will get the smell. There are no visible fumes though!
No, I didn't re-map the ECU - that is something I don't want to mess with. I like Nanny. It keeps me safe. Keeps my kids fed and my wife happy. Developing software for a living I don't recommend...
Yes, with the baffle in.
Based on the user manual - yes!
However, several forum members have said they've never had problems with warranty claims even with the CAT bypass.
I had the same question before I installed a CAT bypass. I was told by my dealer that PA doesn't require emissions sticker for motorcycles, so CAT delete is legal in PA.
I saved the CAT just in...
Why not use Google maps? it's free and is always up-to-date. You can also download maps off-line and use them even if you don't have a cell connection
Hmm, forgive my ignorance, but why would you disable it? I'm serious, isn't it designed to keep rubber side down?
like many have said insurance premiums vary by state/location/area/age/driving records.
Here's my 2 cents (based on having a family member in the insurance industry)
1. Never ever EVER (!!!) sign...
Congratulations! You'll enjoy it. Remember to relax those arms :)
There's a label attached to the wires saying "Customer Accessory Circuit"
I used it for a few days after purchasing F3-S. Besides the indicator when to shift it also remaps the throttle response so it becomes "softer". I never used Eco mode again until I installed a cat...
Amish don't text :)
There's only one front sprocket on F3 :)
There's no CVT on F3
there was a recall for a mounting bracket or a weld under the seat - I don't remember exactly what it was. Make sure the recall work is done on the byke.
No, those wires are for switches. There are three "customer accessory circuits" with separate fuses meant for anything you want, including the usb charging. One is located under the tub in the frunk,...
I just installed a cat delete pipe from Baldwin Iron Works on my F3-S - it came with a spring removal/installation tool and a baffle. I was reluctant to get this seemingly useless farkle, I've read...
The fender lights are not DRLs, they are "Position Lights"
DRLs are in your headlights.
Hey @LEEB - that bridge is right next to me! Are you far from Smith Marine? Ask them to sell it. See what price they give you.
That's actually funny in a not-funny way. You should ask the dealer which two cylinders are not firing, and have them physically show you on a twin engine, that only has two cylinders :)
ECM almost...
w6ada - you gotta remember that people mostly post questions about problems they're having on forums, not to brag how reliable or great something is. Also, negative news travel faster and prompt more...
I found the problem.
It was a 1 in a million chance of things going wrong :)
The breather tube is routed through a hole in plastic subfloor on F3, so it was extremely difficult to figure out what...
I'm thinking it could be the cap not sealing well. All my connections are dry and I don't see any cracks. I'll add the coolant and replace the cap. I'll also have the dealer look things over.
The metal doodad that connects wheel to the frame. You understood me :)
no, the overflow hose is in the right place and is routed all the way down. I'm afraid the tank is cracked, the coolant is way below the cold line. The spyder is still under warranty, I'll have to...
Yep, it's coolant. Now I gotta figure out how it gets on the swing arm :banghead:
Tire that's on the sunny side might register 1-2 psi higher. Make sure you measure them cold and in the shade. Pressure should be equal.
